Re: 2018 NBA Draft Talk
Livingston was a generational talent pre-injury. I like Shai, but thats some really, really high praise I dont think is warranted. However, the size, frame, switchability, ect. makes some sense. If you said similar to Livingston a few years ago, with upside and a better jumper, I would agree.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

If you guys follow the Clipper Instagram, you'll notice that they've been doing a countdown to the draft lottery using Clipper jerseys. With 3 days away, I like how they used Q Rich's jersey instead of CP3's lol.

I missed this feeling of falling in love with a prospect, then finding everything wrong with them the next day. I've missed scouting. It's been too long.

He is one of my under 6'6" exceptions.
Long arms. Athletic as hell. Have to coach him up on the defensive end.
I do not think with Doc in the fold (and presumably Austin coming back) that we pick him even if he is the guy on our board when we're on the clock....and that frustrates me.

LOL. I love draftniks, who have never even seen these guys play except [maybe] a few games on TV. The rest of their info is second- or third-hand.
Me, I knew Terry Rozier was gonna hit big. I watched the draft combine one afternoon. And I saw the website Rudy Gobert's agent set up for him. One look at this

and I just knew, y'know?

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Talk
Is everybody just resigned to the idea that Kevin Knox has no motor and that he can't and won't be able to defend?
6'9" 7'4" wing span. Can shoot. Has an off ball game.
He's received relatively little talk in this thread and very little love while we covet that type of physical profile.
edit:
And would you rate him over Lonnie Walker?

Pondering Possibilities with the Lottery
/video/1
Robert Flom, ClipsNation.com (5/14/18)
Scenario 3 (2.15% probability): Clippers keep Pistons pick at 13 or 14, their own pick jumps to top 3
This is the best-case scenario, and Clippers’ fans will be desperately hoping for the lottery balls to bounce this way on Tuesday. The top of this draft class is stacked with potential All-Star players, and the Clippers’ jump back to contention could be expedited greatly if they were to snag one of the top three prospects in it. Even better, they get to keep the Pistons pick as well! There would also be the possibility of flipping that top-three pick for a superstar player, as that is the kind of blue-chip stock that teams would be willing to part with an All-Star for. This situation would be phenomenal for the Clippers, and a monumental day for the franchise. Fingers crossed.
Clippers 2018 NBA Draft Lottery Scenarios
Paolo Uggetti, TheRinger.com (5/14/18)
The Clippers Get One Pick in the Top 3, Plus Another Lottery Pick
The Clippers have two lottery picks this year thanks to the Blake Griffin trade, which looks more favorable for L.A. by the day, and their own pick for missing the playoffs. The pick from the Pistons is top-4 protected, but the Clippers’ pick has a 2.2 percent chance of landing in the top 3. The Clippers are in an interesting position: They have plenty of talent to aim for an 8-seed, are eyeing the market for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and yet don’t have the same cachet or number of assets as the Lakers do. One lucky ping-pong ball could change all of that.

Oh, I like Knox plenty. He’s more of a PF than a SF, and he’ll need to learn to D up on perimeter players better, but I really think he’ll develop a three point shot and could conceivably be a 17-20 ppg player in 5 or 6 years.
But we’ve already got that guy. His name is Tobias Harris. I don‘t see the advantage of drafting a guy that could potentially, after 5 years, turn into Tobias Harris after 5 years. Couple with the fact that we’ve got Gallinari playing a stretch 4—and as he gets older, it’s a position he’s much more suited for—and stretch 4/big 3 is the one position we’re best covered at.
Over Lonnie Walker? I think Walker has the same sort of ceiling—he’ll score a little more, but will strictly be a one position guy (though with that wingspan, he could eventually become a very good defender). His ceiling is probably around 18-20 ppg as well. But here’s the deal. The guy we have in Harris’s place on the roster is Austin. Knox could potentially match Tobias. Walker is much more likely to match and surpass Austin and do it a lot sooner. I’m not sure if I rate Walker better than Knox as an overall player, but I rate him more highly for us since he’ll improve us more, and do it more quickly.

I wouldnt go that far, but certainly something that I have been examining. I think he's big, long, and athletic enough where he still has some defensive upside. I think he can eventually hold his own playing the 3 and 4. Handles are a bit loose, and he needs some work, but the size, shooting, and position are all traits/qualities that should interest us.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.
