Brown doesnt need to be an offensive stud.
He needs to be a third sometime fourth option between hayward and irving.
And at times he can carry the load. All of which he is showing more than capable of doing while providing excellent at times outstanding defense.

it's going to be absolutely stupid at how efficient Brown, Tatum, Hayward, Kyrie and Horford will all likely be next season...like how do you defend that lineup? Add in the other guys too...It's Warriors-East

Actually kind of reminds me more of the Spurs team that toppled the LeBron Heat team. They had 8 guys averaging 9+ PPG. Could easily see something like that, where we have:
Kyrie
Hayward
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Smart
Morris
Rozier
All averaging 8-21 PPG. Kyrie will get his, but after that it's going to be a very egalitarian (and efficient) group.

I say again -- Jaylen will easily have as much offensive versatility as the Ray Allen/Reggie Miller kinds of players. He will also easily be their superior in defense. So he could quite conceivably match them in overall value without being any more of a "creator" than he is now.
For example, I watched the first 4 1/2 minutes of a video of Reggie Miller's career high-scoring game. There's nothing in there that Brown can't already do today (albeit with different techniques). It's just a question of consistency; the guys I named are all-time great scorers because they had all-time great consistency at fairly basic moves.
(As a bonus, this video features a flagrant foul committed against the often-annoying Reggie Miller, by none other than Steph Curry's dad.)
Reggie Miller is one of the best shooters of all time with one of the prettiest and quickest shots.
Brown has improved but lets please not pretend like hes reggie Miller offensively. He hasn't even shown he can be. Its insulting to reggie.
I agree. Nobody should say that Brown is as good as Reggie Miller offensively, nor that he's likely to ever be so. Do you know of anybody who's saying that? I don't.

Just use your eyeballs. Whether it is height or limb length, Kawhi looks bigger and taller on the court. What a player is listed at is often inaccurate.
And Kawhi is a top 3 player when healthy. I love Brown and hope he stays. That said neither he nor Tatum are expected t be top 3 NBA players - not saying it can’t happen - but let’s be realistic what you are saying when you wouldn’t trade them for Kawhi. The disparity is so much greater than it was for IT and Brooklyn pick for Kyrie.
Right now Brown is putting up great numbers as #1 scoring option getting most shots on team. Next to Kyrie and Hayward and a second year Tatum he will probably score 15 as 4th option/defensive stopper which is great. Next year if Kawhi plays he would easily be #1 option and defensive stopper.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Thats the amount of shots Jaylen has taken per game in this series. With Kyrie, Hayward and an improved Tatum, he wont average close to that amount next season.. Will he be happy going back to a "developmental" prospect and role player?.. I dont get the sense that he would.
He seems to have an alpha personality and seems to also be prone to pouting. I think if the chance arises, you take a chance on the better current player that fits the timeline of your better players.. and allow Brown to flourish elsewhere vs competing with time and shots with 2 similarly talented wings and one who may already be better in Tatum(he's not, but its close)
Kawhi would step in and immediately be the best player on the team and best player in the East if LeBron leaves. Thats a larger disparity than even stats would display.

Of course if someone like Kawhi or AD is available, trading Brown is something to consider.
But not because he won't be getting those amount of shots with Kyrie and Hayward back.
Knowing what we have in Brown, he would accept the challenge and try to earn the right to take near those amount of shots even with Kyrie and Hayward back.
He was in the doghouse last year, but when given the opportunity in the playoffs, he embraced it and thrived. Moving forward, I hope he keeps the same mindset.
I think he and maybe Jayson will be an option over Gordon. I’m sure Gordon will get his looks, but I could see his role being more of the guy that helps facilitate the offense and gets guys set defensively, then takes his shots when he needs to. Think Al Horford but a wing with better scoring ability.

I want Jaylen here for a very long time, I like his attitude and his game. I believe Ainge thinks the same way.

One of the things I have been really pleased with about Jaylen's development besides his handle is his ability to understand angles. This year he has started to show off the ability to slow down and use his body to shield off defenders once he is in the lane. He's really good at it for such a young player.

I truly "get" the concept of going after established stars in order to possibly escalate the pace towards a championship. But man I want to watch these young guns make their way into stardom on my team, not on someone elses.

Officially off the Kawhi wagon. Always had one foot on, one foot off... not any more.

Someone said the same in the GT and I agreed. Posting here to make it offical, lol. I really wanted Kawhi too, lol.

I would still take Kawhi for Rozier and picks and then look to flip Kawhi.

We don't need Kawhi and whatever problems he has. I'd rather have what we have now all things considered.

It’s really hard to break the Tatum/Brown combo..it’s a very special one with a crazy ceiling. This duo should be talked about more than Embiid/Simmons easily. It’s all about wings in the nba and we got 2 really talented fearless kids that are just beginning at an absurd rate.

stevens got no votes for HCY, tatums getting railroaded, and JB could very well earn Most Improved.. but he won't. what a rising star; his buckets were meaningful and has eliminated "rookie mistakes". his contract's liquid gold for ainge to build around him/tatum/tro111. kyrie could be the odd man out
