Re: The Season End Blowout Bash! Trade/FA Talk Vol. 8
Draft Ayton at #2
Trade Warren, Chriss, and 16 for Love (Bron bolts, Cavs retool)
Sign Hezonja, Beverley
Knight, Beverley, Ulis
Booker, Daniels, Reed
Jackson, Hezonja
Love, Bender, Dudley
Ayton, Williams, Chandler
Adds shooting, playmaking and rebounding to the starting line.
Much stronger bench unit.

Re: The Season End Blowout Bash! Trade/FA Talk Vol. 8
Would anyone be interested in Rondo or Rose? They both looked pretty darn useful in the playoffs. I'd be curious to know how Kokoskov views our various options at PG... It's pretty obvious how badly we could use some defense at the 1.
I'm really starting to see the appeal of adding one of Ayton or Bamba to this roster. Both have the potential to be great, and what both Booker and Jackson need most is not a better primary ballhandler, but a block threat on defense and big target on offense. I haven't written off Jackson or Bagley, either. You never know how workouts will go.

Too much for Love. For that kind of package, I want a younger player with some potential.

No. Rondo and to a lesser extent, Rose were on teams that already had star to elite level players and like the Boston Big 4, Rondo was just the glue that made everyone work together. I don't think either guys would want to come to a rebuilding project and especially one that I don't believe would maximize their impact.
Loved what I saw from Rondo with AD, Holiday and Mirotic but I just don't see that chemistry being replicated on the Suns because we just have too many holes on the team. If anything, I think we're more likely to get Maverick Rondo than Playoff Rondo

I could absolutly see one year of Rondo. McD and Rondo go back to the Celtics. He is a guy we could probably get for the midlevel. I don't really like it but I could see it. Kinda like Bradley.

If we don't pick up a PG via the draft and we decide to not give Payton a deal, I'd consider giving him a run. But what happened in Dallas still leaves a bad impression in my mind.

Rondo has a super volatile stock. Dallas did not work. Pels weren't working until they were. I don't like his fit with Igor.

Ilyasova could be a good PF signing then. Stretch 4 who's not afraid to shoot.
Jackson Jr would be good too as center if Suns get pick 3 or 4

If Igor can fix Bender's aggressiveness issues with better positioning and some player development, we won't really need Ilyasova. I don't think there's enough(development) minutes between Bender/Ily/Chriss quite frankly and if we were going to sign Ily as a "veteran" contributor then I'd want to move Chriss.

Re: The Season End Blowout Bash! Trade/FA Talk Vol. 8
Look, i have been a Rondo fan since the beginning, and would have loved to get him in the past, but now is not the time. We need a younger PG that will grow with our core. One that we can build with. Not one that is 33 and at the end of his career. Do we really want a 36 year old PG leading us in our championship run? Because its going to take years before we are at that level, its not going to happen overnight and in one season. And thats not even speaking on how i believe he will be a bad fit systematically.

Ilyasova is a decent player, but he is 31 years old and he is a backup player. He has been on six different rosters in just three seasons.
I would prefer to bring back Shengelia to the NBA. He is not worse than Ilyasova and he is four years younger.

Re: The Season End Blowout Bash! Trade/FA Talk Vol. 8
Well Ilyasova as a backup was my intention.
But whomever stretch 4 willing to accept around 7 million a year... 2 years.
If Pacers would trace Bogjanovic I would like that too. If Suns can get Musa .. Maybe by trading one of Chriss or Bender or Bucks 2019 Pick for a late lottery...
Suns need players around Booker and Jackson that doesn't need to dribble much to be dangerous offensively.. Catch and shoot players or one dribble pull ups.

I would love to watch Kokoskov coaching our Summer Suns.
IDK if Bender is gonna play, but if he plays and dominates in Summer League under Kokoskov I would be more comfortable with him as an important player on our roster next season.
If he fails again and shows no improvement I would try hard to sign an starting PF via trade/FA in July.

If Ilyasova and Rondo is the level I'd prefer Ibaka and Beverley who can defend and shoot.

I don't think it's so much about his personality. He is who he is from a personality standpoint but I don't think the game of basketball is entirely based off of a player's personality. There's skills, BBIQ and of course, understanding of the game which can be taught. Something like when to attack a close out and when to pass it off is something that can be taught. His personality means that he's obviously starting a little bit back the start line from everyone else but I don't think just because he's lacking an aggressive mindset, he's unable to learn skills that can make him an impactful player.
