Any ideas?
Three team trade:

Hawks get: Wiggins

Wolves get: Deng, Hart, #19 and #25

Lakers get: cap space

:o

We'd certainly have to consider this...VERY strongly.

Seriously...we get A Wiggins and only give up #19 and cap space?

That'd be an amazing haul for a team in rebuild mode...

I would normally agree but there’s something wrong with Wiggins. He seems like he has a couple of moves and that’s it. I dunno, maybe not.

It's not only #19 and capspace, it's ALL of our capspace for the next 2 years with Baze and Plumlee still on the team, that leaves us financially inflexible. 25, 27, 29, 31 and 33 - that's the millions we'll have to pay a guy who hasn't shown any significant growth to his game in 4 years. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good.

As for the trade itself, I'd cut out LAL (Deng is 33 and often injured) and offer Bazemore and #19 for Wiggins. Minny gets defense and 3pt shooting from the wing and $7 million in cap savings plus 3 years off Wiggins' deal.

Dennis gave an interview over in Germany that pretty much sums up that he wants out if the team is going to continue rebuilding

I expect Schlenk to trade him if and when somebody puts up a 1st for him, which well, it might happen, it did for Bledsoe

Dennis is still under contract for 3 more years, so him making demands likely won't end well for him. I don't see Schlenk trading him for whatever he can get just to get rid of the contract.

Dennis may WANT to get traded, but he's in no position to DEMAND one.

His current value is considerably very low not kust on the court but off the court as well.
He needs to up his value in both instances before demanding squat.

I say set him free at the first opportunity. Implore him to play smarter, more efficient ball to make himself more attractive to rival teams and then trade him as soon as we get solid value offered in return.

I've never been in favor of keeping guys around who don't want to be.
Playing for my favorite NBA team is an honor...not a punishment.

Spoiler:
Bud, Dennis and any others wanting to leave mid contract:

Wanting to leave because the team is trying to lose as much as possible isn't something really to be condemned. The career of a player (and to a lesser extent some coaches) is really short. Why should we expect guys to just want to hang out and lose because mgt doesn't want to win. I don't want a player who's content to be on a last place team for the foreseeable future.

This whole season I’ve mentioned Prince and Collins...now I realize either of those guys can get traded as well but there’s a reason why I didn’t mention Dennis. He’s not going to be here past next Feb. trade deadline for sure, but possibly gone as soon as this summer. If we are smart we hang on to him and showcase the crap outta him from Nov-Feb 2018-19 and sell to the highest bidder.

We showcased him the whole season though and it just exposed that he can't shoot or play defense.

That’s a bit true but honestly Bud’s style isn’t geared towards showcasing people as it was against the tank. Bud coaches team ball.

Having said that perhaps Lloyd can bring in some attributes to Dennis’s game to make him more attractive to 29 other GM’s.

I hope we get a decent deal for him and flip him this summer. I just don’t wanna get that usual..”Hawks return” in a trade.

He even mentions he would like to end up in Milwaukee or Indiana (as he is friends with Oladipo according to the interview). When was the last time a non All Star asked for a trade with the destinations of his choice?

:banghead:

I wanted Oladipo here to potentially play alongside Dennis.

NOTE: That backcourt pairing is less than ideal.

I agree that pairing doesn’t work. Oladipo needs a point guard that can flat out shoot. Dennis can shoot but it takes him a bit to get his feet set and his shot off, a tad too long for a pg in my opinion. I would fit Trae Young next to Oladipo..to me, that would work minus the fact that it’s a super small backcourt and could get killed on D.

Oladipo and Trae definitely could work.

As could Oladipo and Doncic. That might be the ideal pairing.

How about Noah and pick #9 for Dennis and pick #19.

NY ain't touching that. They are just going to cut him on Sept 1st.

I don't know what we should do to Dennis. It is clear we aren't the right team for him but him opening his damn mouth won't get him traded either. To be frank, I am sold we should make an example of his stupid ass.

I can see him fitting in well with Minny splitting time with Teague. I can also see him doing well in Boston if they get rid of Rozier for an upgrade to a superstar. He played extremely well with Horford.

I could even see him doing well in Phoenix with their up-tempo system. I can see him having some good fits. But we clearly aren't one of them. But we don't have any other options. Our PG depth is horrendous and we aren't in the draft position to get one either. I would like to get Collin Sexton with our 2nd 1st. That would be optimal. I don't know. I just think he should just come into the off-season. Work extremely hard on his pain points, play well and improve. He does that, if a team needs him and his court case is no longer pending, I can see him getting us a solid return in a trade. That would make it worth it for us.

From the players perspective, I don't think it would be a good look to "make an example out of him". He doesn't fit the rebuild anyway. He is likely aware of this. TS needs to help him better understand his role in creating a good trade environment. Maybe Shro starting trade ideas is a positive.
