Been looking at bigger PGs that can shoot lately. Tony Carr and Shake Milton interest me.

With the bigger guys more and more able to handle the ball adequately, PG seems to be undergoing redefinition. Steph only averaged 6.1 apg this year. What you definitely want is the shooting.

Next would indeed be some length so you can switch on D rather than try to hide your 6-footer, although some guys like CP3 and Pat Bev are able to scrap with the big boys.

NBA.com's Cases For and Against Clippers in Lottery

Post#404 » by Ranma » Tue May 15, 2018 10:33 pm

Matt Petersen, NBA.com (5/14/18)
Image
Danny Manning was one of the most highly anticipated draftees in NBA history. His health, however, didn't hold up.

2017-18 record: 42-40

No. 1 pick odds:
0.6 percent

Argument for: Is the Clippers’ brief time in the sunshine over just like that? Half a decade of relevance hardly seems enough to make up for 40 years of misery. Don’t they deserve a shot at a No. 1 pick that isn’t injury prone or named Michael Olowokandi?

Also, can you imagine team owner Steve Ballmer winning his first No. 1 pick? The guy is a true fan, and would undoubtedly set a new level of post-win enthusiasm.

Argument against: The lottery gods must surely frown on a team just four months removed from trading a No. 1 overall pick recently signed to a long-term contract. Don’t forget, it was Blake Griffin -- not Chris Paul -- that served as the first ray of sunshine that finally fell upon Los Angeles' “other team.”

Plus, are we sure the Clippers’ bad luck with top draftees’ health is really gone?

It would be really neat if we somehow got the 1st pick with ours, and 5th with Detroit's.

Detroit's pick is top-4 protected and the lottery determines the top 3 picks, so that pick either goes to the Pistons if it is picked in the lottery drawings or stays with the Clippers at 12th-14th overall. If the Clippers or Nuggets somehow secure one of the top 3 picks then the Detroit pick would fall to 13th overall and in the highly unlikely event that both the Clips and Nugs get into the top 3, the pick would fall to 14th.

Lottery Should Apply for Every Top-14 Pick

Post#412 » by Ranma » Tue May 15, 2018 11:56 pm

I concur. The odds are already stacked accordingly given the amount of "lottery tickets" in number combinations given to each team based on team record, so why not just draw for every pick in the lottery? It would certainly make things more exciting and go further towards discouraging teams from tanking.

While I am skeptical about Lawrence Frank, this is a fantastic thing to hear for our organization.

Elton Brand representing the Sixers? The team where he had his most failures? WTF? Yep, he has truly cut his ties with us. He ain't getting his 42 retired here.

Goddamn it. 2 picks and we end up in the bottom 3. Why can't Clipper fans ever have nice things?
