If you guys happen to draft Doncic any thoughts on trading for both Dragic and Whiteside? Guessing players like Chandler and Knight would have to be involved coming back

If we draft a big I would like to trade for him if his value is low.

He is a veteran young and he is on a good contract.

On what planet is $15M per year for Dennis **** Schroder a good contract?

Only on the "let's max Avery Bradley or pay Marcus Smart $15 mil a year" planet. If you look at the history of FA, giving non all-stars 8 figures, even in the cap blowup years we have had, have all mostly been awful moves. Right now the Rockets are Ryan Anderson away from having Lebron. It could cost them Capela when they could, without that deal, have the flexibility to role out Harden, Paul, Lebron, Capela in their starting lineup next year. Why make that same mistake? The only way I am okay with taking on another big deal is if we are giving up a worse deal or if it is for 1 year like the 76ers did with Reddick and thus has no impact on our future cap flexibility.

I wouldn't mind taking Goran back but the issue is he was quite the pansy on his way out of here and made it pretty well known he wants to be the main guy. With Booker going forward he won't be, let alone Doncic or Ayton. If he is okay being the 3rd banana I think he'd be a great fit on this team. I would almost rather go for a guy like Exum though just for age reasons given the respective ages of the rest of the team, and he may not cost anything more than cap space.

That said, I want nothing to do with Whiteside. His deal is just not worth his talent imo. He is productive but a bit of a paper tiger. I think there are better uses for that cap space for Phoenix. Also, since we have the unprotected future Miami pick, I'm disinclined to help Miami, a historically attractive FA destination, get a bunch of cap space.

The other issue with taking both is that we will likely be filling our holes at the 1 or 5 with our own pick, so I am not sure we would want both. Doncic, if selected, will run our offense with Booker. I think Jackson guards the 1s and Doncic plays the 1 on offense with Booker playing it in spurts as well.

I think the point of getting Luka would be as a PG, which would make Dragic coming back kind of pointless. Unlikely either way imo.

Expecting us to get either Tyreke Evans or Avery Bradley.

I wouldn't mind Dragic coming back. There could be something there with the whole Doncic/Koko connection but I really don't like Whiteside. I'd make a move if the price was reasonable for Dragic but not for both guys

That's fine. Was just taking the temp. I just tossed out Whiteside in case you guys strike out in free agency at Center. He can pretty much be had for pennies on the dollar. Dragic reunion looks very interesting if fences can be mended with front office. Price should be very reasonable. Guessing we start with Knight?

It shouldn't take the 16th pick. There are only a couple teams who should want him and neither are the 2 he mentions wanting to go to. I don't think Milwaukee or Indiana would give anything more valuable than 16th for him that a rebuilding team would want. I would offer our 2nd at MOST, and even then I kind of prefer Bongo on a rookie deal over Schroeder on his. So yeah...maybe a heavily protected future 1st or for knight straight up imo.

PGs simply are not that valuable unless you are an MVP candidate level one. That's why I keep getting absolutely baffled at these 3-4 1st rounder for Kemba offers I see floating around from fans.

I wouldn't offer a 2nd for him...he's just clogging cap space for 3 years. We already wasted a 2nd on the Payton tryout. I wouldn't take on his contract if they gave us a 2nd.

If Knicks ring and offer their pick and Porzingis for Pick 1

Do you accept?

No. If we had the 3rd pick and Zinger didn't have his ACL injury, I'd consider it

If Trae Young is at where Knicks pick...

Porzingis and Young would be an amazing haul in an off-season.

whoever passes on Trae after #3 is gonna regret it bad

I'm guessing after the Warriors win and teams see him swishing a million 3s in workouts he's gonna rise again

Ask me again after the 8th pick.

Sign Bradley for a cheap 1-2 year deal and have Jackson and Booker run the offense.

I'm curious about who all these veterans we'll be getting as there's no obvious player above the level of Avery Bradley or Derrick Favors we'd be favourite for if we wanted them.

Would you guys sign off on this off-season?

1. Draft Ayton
2. Sign KCP/Avery Bradley; Payton, Luc Mbah A Moute, and Wayne Ellington

KCP or Bradley(JJ and Booker will run O)
Booker
JJ
Luc Mbah
Ayton

Bench: Ellington; Payton, Warren, Bender, and Chriss

Good mix of vets that complement your team, and those vets likely won’t compromise your future cap space 2-3 years from now when you have to pay Booker and JJ max deals.

My priority is finding the ideal team balance so I'd go Beverley and Ibaka.

Beverley, Booker, Jackson, Ibaka, Ayton.

I don't care that they probably won't be around long it's more about complimenting team development while we get good enough to attract 1-2 star players.

After watching the Raps-Cavs series I'd say Ibaka is done. At 45yo it's not easy to stay in shape.

What do you guys think of Derrick Favors? I like him for you guys whether you go with Ayton or Doncic (contrats BTW :) )
