You talking post play? We don't have the floor spreaders to give him much space. I think he would be bothered by multiple defenders all the time inside and wants to play more outside as he's mentioned.

Stay away from luka the NBA has an absurd amount of talent at PG. not to mention the rookies took last year.

Get ayton

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Don't, bro. Never clean that lucky phone again.

Should've kept that lucky crap in a ziplock bag too. You know, to show the grand kids

Maybe I need to make this an annual thing...

I take a dump during lottery ... It's a New tradition for me!

Embiid/Gobert possibly

No one can stop Ayton 1-on-1. He is either stronger than you or quicker than you. It will take a defensive scheme but with Booker out there that will be a challenge.

Divacs like "I want Doncic"

Maybe fleece Kings.

Pick 2 + Other assets for Pick 1, Knight, Dudley and Chandler lol

Clear space for a pick 2

Then have Doncic push for Suns anyways lol

oddity wrote:Luka is still the best basketball player in the draft, and the offensive firepower would be ridiculous. Score Clint Capela or DCuz in the free agency and you have one heck of a squad.
Also notable would be the size of this lineup, with a perimeter of 6'8, 67', and 6'8. If JJ can guard the 1, Luka can slide down to take the 3, where he fares far better on defense.

Not saying I don't fully understand the appeal of Ayton. He has the perfect NBA body and a shooting stroke to boot. Ayton can become a premiere offensive threat inside and out, and will likely be a great rebounder, but I question his motor and performance on defense. ...And if we aren't getting a defensive stalwart shouldn't we at least get a facilitator?
I'm very much torn here, and while my head goes with Ayton, my heart is definitely hoping for Luka to be our guy.

I think Doncic would make a lot bigger impact immediately and make things much easier and fun for everyone else. With a guy like Ayton it will take more time. I'm not sure what we would do at PG then but I hope it wouldn't come down to desperation. But our offense and spacing would still be bad and I think it would be much harder for our team to improve quickly due to continued spacing issues and not great play making.

But I think he probably will be able to play stretch 5. I do think with Ayton though we could probably add another high pick or two in the next year or two so that could help, but I think it will take patience and we'd have to hope we could find some floor spreaders and initiators. He has the tools to play great D but of course we'd have to wait and see if and when that ever happened.

The worry isn't that he can't destroy 95% of defenders in the post, it's that he could potentially be taken out of plays defensively and possibly even offensively. If he doesn't expand his game out to the 3PT line, it could be difficult to run and gun with the elite NBA teams

It isn't out of the realm of possibility that we offer the Kings a grandaddy deal to get Doncic and pair him with Ayton, Booker, Jackson and Igor...Or is it?

#16, PHX 2019 1st (protected 1-3), MIA unprotected, Chriss or Bender...Too much, not enough?

Not realistic I suspect but we can dream :)

Definitely worth a shot with Divac. Kings will be tanking again this season.

I don’t want to get cute with #1 overall. You take the best guy, period. If Sac decides they’re happy with Ayton we’ll be kicking ourselves for half a century or more.

I think I want Ayton right now. The more I watch Doncic, the more that can change.
