#16, PHX 2019 1st (protected 1-3), MIA unprotected, Chriss or Bender...Too much, not enough?

Not realistic I suspect but we can dream :)

Not enough but hey with Divac at the helm, who knows. Maybe we can get him wet including Dragan Bender. Former #4 pick and a prototypical EURO stretch 5

Cross your heart and hope to die IF YOU MESS THIS UP MCD. WE WAITED 50 YEARS FOR THIS

This is his LAST chance.

Luckily I love the coaching hire enough that I think he will be the best coach for whoever we draft, and I like that he has worked with Shaq and recently worked with Gobert.

It would probably be easier with him to have that great facilitator in Doncic like D'Antoni did with Nash, but hopefully we can find a decent PG if we go with Ayton.

I think Booker will have major say in who we take at 1. Another backcourt player that could potentially take away touches from him (even though Doncic will make his life easier) might not be so enticing for a player with his "mamba" mentality. He retweeted Ayton making Shaq/Kobe comparisons and has said in interviews that he thinks Ayton is something special. I almost hope Igor gives the thumbs up to Ayton just so we can avoid any potential bad blood with Booker. Hopefully Booker has an open mind about playing with either.

As i posted before:

#16/2019 1st UNPROTECTED/2019 Bucks 1st/2021 1st top 4 protected/Dudley/Chriss for #2/ZBO.

They still get a pick this year #16, They would now own a pick next year (Ours and it would have to be unprotected), They get an added 2020 1st from the Bucks (Unless they absolutely regress and suck next year), and they get our pick in 2021. They dump a year of ZBO's salary ($12M) by exchanging it with Dudley or Chandlers expiring, and they get some Young Talent in Chriss.

Its a lot to pay, but should be worth it in the end for us.

It also warms my heart to see so many posters from other boards be happy for us, when the Suns are constantly being bashed on ESP...well, everywhere.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by

Dumb question again but how does the lottery actually work with the whole 4 pingpong balls get selected and somehow the combination gives you the draw? I get how it would work if there were 1000 balls and we have 250 of them but I don't quite get how this works with 14 balls

Who do you think is the right guy for us?

I've had Doncic at the top all season, but I really don't see how you could go wrong with Ayton either. Doncic is the most technically advanced 19 year old ever - you can say he might be found out athletically in the NBA a bit but guys who are advanced at that age translate very well to the NBA - case in point, Jayson Tatum. Tatum similarly isn't that great of an athlete and he's been especially beastly this playoffs.

Ayton isn't quite the high-IQ defender you want from a 5 but he's not the finished product there and he's unreal in a lot of areas.

Doncic, Ayton, JJJ; these are outstanding prospects, any of them can be centerpiece players on playoff teams for years, whatever direction you go in will be the right path.

Normally yeah. But things could potentially, maybe, possibly (like maybe lower than 1% chance but slightly higher than 0) get interesting if Doncic threatens he'll stay in Europe unless he's traded to the Suns/says he'll never play for the Kings.

But the Kings are a good landing spot for him so he'd be fine going there.

I'm excited for Booker/Ayton. As much as I'd like Doncic, and I'm still torn between the two, I think we are going Ayton.

There are 1001 combinations of the 14 balls and we had 250 of them. 1 combination (11, 12, 13, 14) is unused.

You draw 4 balls and one of our 250 combinations came up first.

I feel like a dumbass. So the balls don't draw the draft position, it just draws the combination and the combination holds the 250 chances
