So sad to see BOS up 2-0, we should have trashed both these teams, biggest underachievement year for RAPS

Haha we couldn't even trash the dysfunctional Wiz, yet we can trash the well oiled Celtics?

Would've been a massacre

The Celtics are just as deep as us...

The Celtics have a coach that knows how to manage rotations.

Did the coach also make Rozier/Tatum/Jaylen better players than Demar Derozan?

Bruh Marcus Smart is a impactful player, Derozan is not and he is the 2nd best player on the team. Having 5 guys on the court that can attack helps, The Celtics have that and they can also defend. This more a talent Issue. half of defense is effort.

Ok trash is a strong word, but we should have beat both teams, I think we would have beat Boston in 7.

Derozan sucks, but yes, a coach is responsible for developing his players. Stevens wouldn't tolerate a lack of effort from his players. Casey spoiled Demar by coddling him for years.

That the problem right there, the "best" player on the team sucks and needs to be benched because he can't play half the game. Just take that in and people still don't think it's a talent issue lol.

Horford = Lowry
you can say Boston has the next 3 best players after that

And they have a high IQ group of players that know how to switch, communicate on defense, and switch back on post entry passes in disadvantageous matchups.

You can't teach what they have on the court, no mini training camps or film studies will ever bridge the gap for DD or Ibaka defensively.

Its a talent issue and IQ is just much a part of the 'talent' equation as the physical component.

well said. anyone who thinks a coach can magically come in and fix things are delusional.

It will take at least a full season for the team to embrace yet another culture change. Then 1 more year before Lowry's contract expire. then the play style will change again. stuck in medicore hell.

Did you see what Stevens did when the cavs went big, he played, horford, baynes, morris, tatum and brown., What would we have done, probably had fred and kyle (both barely 6 ft) on the floor with demar/miles and two bigs. First off i hate it when he plays both kyle and fred, only one please as we give up so much damn size and Casey would rather play three point guards than three bigs and casey is stubborn in his coaching and when he does branch out, he goes so far on a tangent. Casey has always been atrocious on his player rotations. For some stupid reason he gave a hurt fred van vleet more playing time than an in form delon wright, that right there tells you among many other examples that he goes by past precedence vs what is the smart decision at the moment, does not use his head at all

Smh. I’m fine one more year new coach. But our window is closing or has closed already. This was the year. If we get embarrassed next year as well, finally Blow it up Masai

Our window has closed. It's time to rebuild now while the rest of the conference is competing.

Tell that to the board after all the revenue these last few years. I'm sure they'd rather even 1 more year of regular season winning basketball before tearing things apart, even if it meant no real playoff aspirations.

i completely disagree, i think coaching has a lot to do with guidance on when to switch and then instill confidence in them to communicate on defense. If stevens was our coach, you would likely see our players communicating a lot more. One knock on the raptors, is that our two worst IQ players happen to be in the starting lineup, that's ibaka and derozan.

Oh I know. We have one of the worst owners in the league. They won't ever agree to a long term rebuild.

By the way we played, I am glad we saw LeBron FIRST before playing the C's...we will be blown out even worse...at least we can blame James.

Nope we would have beat the celtics because we have greater confidence against them and they have more confidence vs the cavs vs us (before we played the cavs and shat the bed) because we played them tough on their home floor and blew them out on our home floor

Celtics has heart and smarts... reason they came back in game 2 was because they attacked the basket instead of passing the ball east west like a hot potato... oh, and no one not the raps dared to challenge the Cavs in the other than jv... everyone was scared lebron will block their shots

Detrash would not be trash against the celtics because of one simple reason, he does not FEAR them.

Will Ibaka take charge at the mini training camp for the defense drills again this year?
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Team takes the personality of thier coach. Casey was a nice guy, so were the players. Brad Stevens may look harmless but he must be a secret ****. Bet he kicks his dog after every loss.

Return to Toronto Raptors
