I offered Kanter + our 2nd for Mahimi and Washington’s first. They countered with a yes but 2019 first instead of their 2018.

I think we could get their #15 this year. They will need cap space and we can take Mahimi off there hands an save them a lot. Add Mudiay as a sweetener if needed.

I want another first round pick this year.

me too. i wish it would be top 10 though.

i want mikal. but i'm reading more about sexton. the point for sexton, who i actually haven't researched at all yet, is it would allow frank to be a defensive off guard (similar to burke now).

priority, to me, should be mikal. but i see the point of a PG who can penetrate and create offense. no, not trae young

Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee, #9 for Parsons, #4

Why for Memphis: Move back only 5 spots in the draft while adding veteran help and getting out of Parsons deal.

Why for Knicks: Move up for 5 spots to draft one of the top prospects. Takes a chance on Parsons who can use a change of teams.

Knicks have nothing really worth having to another team, so Knicks trade nothing with nobody and take back zero.

I don't really see any realistic deals out there.

We have assets they are all overpaid or on rookie contracts that makes trading them is foolish.

Also I assume Kanter wants to test the market before deciding to opt in/out. So we can't even say if we're going to have cap space to absorb a contract for a pick.

I dont know if Memphis would do that, just to save a few extra bucks. Hardaway is cheaper than parsons, but not much better. Plus, I have a feeling they're going to be rebuilding as well, so they'd rather have that better pick for themselves. Also, don't think they want to give their former coach a better pick, either.

That said, I wouldn't mind that trade, as long as one of the top guys slips down to 5

Also, it's looking grim. Boston and Philly are going to dominate the east the next 5 years or so...

Courtney Lee just had his best season as a pro..

We are setting ground for the rebuild. Best player is possibly out for the season. We have a bunch of young guards/wings..

Are there any reasons to keep him?

Frig it, the clippers have the 12 and 13 take Gallinari off their hands so he can finish his career where it started

Philly has 10. Would they want another vet to help them, now that they're done going through the rebuilding process? Lee, Kanter (expiring), Thomas. Anyone?

Extra compensation for unloading a vet. But I'd like to see Knicks get at least 1 more pick

Works for me. Save them roughly 22 million dollars

Kanter + Bulls 2nd

I wonder if they would do Lee (+ future second) for Bayless + 26 (10 is doubtful, IMO).

Would probably have to give up more to get #13. Once they decide to move on from DJ, I can see a rebuild going on and they'll need to keep the picks going forward. Robert Williams would actually be a good target for them in the draft if DJ opts out. I'd like to get Thornwell, as I've liked him since last year...but I can't see them giving him up willy nilly.

The cap savings for them would be huge though because of the tax ramifications.

Would the Knicks entertain a deal revolving around either Wes Matthews or Harrison Barnes for Joakim Noah and Pick #9? Matthews would be coming off the books next year. Gets the Knicks free of Noah. Not sure if the Knicks would want to pay Barnes as much as he is getting, but he’s obviously a far better player than Matthews and far younger.

i definitely agree that 10 is probably unrealistic. i was hopeful, but i didn't think the knicks had anything of value for the 76ers, at least not that i'd like to see go (KP, frank, #9).

but anything else would be nice. maybe even get that 26, and somehow trade up again. what happened to that bulls pick the knicks have?

36 or 37? Awesome position. I'd aim for that Philly pick or the Wolves' 20th (?) pick for Lee and see if they'd bite.

initially i'd say no. i don't get why they'd want to do that. but then i don't see anything significant at 9 that would be better than barnes.

however, i'd still say no, as the knicks would still be better off gambling on a #9 (i'm hoping sexton or mikal, realistically, but am hopeful for bamba or carter to drop as well).

if they'd take timmy, i'd be more inclined. but still probably no.
