I stated this exact measurement in another post.... watch his measurement blow peoples minds today in the combine and immediately gain steam.
yoyojw17 wrote:swarlesbarkley wrote:I feel like Young and Porter Jr may rise throughout the draft process. Moreso Young but Porter Jr could prove he's 100% healthy and move up. That being said, I want either of those guys at #6 because they have the best chance of becoming superstars based on the info we have. I'd also want these guys if we were picking #1 (maybe Doncic).
Trade back into the first round and snag a developmental athletic freak to appease WeHam.
Other than Phoenix.... none of the teams above us truly need a new point guard..... so unless he goes number 1..... phoenix trades down..... we are the first likely spot. Porter on the other hand could fit in at Atl, Memphis, Sac and dallas. so..... we shall see. Gonna be an interesting night.
With the combine starting tomorrow there is so much that can change things.i e bamba measures in at 7' 230 lb with a 7-10" wingspan to start the day off. haha

6. Trae Young
35. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
41. Brandon McCoy or Caleb Martin depending on what we do with our centers.
NBAdraft has Orlando selecting Trae Young, 35-Grayson Allen, and 41-Chimezie Metu. That is a nicely rounded draft.
Orlando starts as:
Augustin/Young/Caupain
Fournier/Ross/Iwundu/Allen
Isaac/SImmons
Gordon/Metu
Vučević/Biyombo/Birch
Clearly either Ross or Simmons would need to be traded, probably as an outright dumping of Ross' contract (say for a future 2nd). And if Hezonja is serious about resigning, Orlando is:
Augustin/Young/Caupain
Fournier/Iwundu/Allen
Isaac/SImmons
Gordon/Hezonja/Metu
Vučević/Biyombo/Birch
Not only do I like the future from 2019/20 of Young/Fournier/Issac/Gordon/Vučević, I also like where the bench is leading to in Caupain/Allen/SImmons/Hezonja/Birch
..
The only catch here is that if Orlando wants to resign Mario for less than he can get on the open market, he'll want a promise to start. He won't be coming off the bench if he resigns. Would you leave money on the table to come back to a team and come off the bench?
This “promise to start” thing seems delusional. No way Mario gives up a payday for a “promise to start” by a team that has seemingly jerked him around anyways. Besides who does he start over between Fournier, Isaac, AG? Possibly MPJ or Simmons too. What if he has another down year? Does he still get to start? Does coach ageee with this promise to start? Just seems like hopeful delusion and a promise that logistically can’t be delivered upon

Exactly! It's delusional to think he'll return to the team after the organization DECLINED his option. That doesn't show much faith in Mario, so why would he return to the Magic for less than he can get somewhere else? If he does resign I'll be ecstatic because I'm not sure why he would resign unless he LOVES Orlando and the team that much.
Do not max Vuc!

We're better than all today and after the draft.
We were all similarly bad teams yet they all have an opportunity to draft potential elite scoring talent we might land Mo Bamba. We’re not Better in any capacity.

Doncic is really the only player I am upset about NOT getting.
Doncic, Ayton, Bagley, JJ, Bamba, Young or MPjr.
Give me one of those 7 and I’m somewhere between intrigued and thrilled.
Just say no to Bridges and Carter!

Pretty much agree with you although I like Bridges but not at 6.

For me it's just say no to Bamba and JJJ.
Doncic is who I wanted.
I'm good with Young, MPj or Mikal
Please no to Bamba & JJJ
I like Bagley over Ayton, Bamba and JJJ
I would take Carter Jr over Bamba and JJJ

Disagree on passing on JJj at 6 or Bamba/Carter over him, but agree on every other thing. I doubt we will have to worry about JJj falling to 6 anyway, so that's probably not a problem.
I really hope it's MPj, Bridges or Young.

Carter and Bridges are the same story at different positions for me.
You are going to get a good player with each of them. But that is all you get. Nothing more.
With JJ, Bamba or others you very well could get a bust who turns out worse than Carter or Bridges. But you also have the undeniable potential for something far greater. That doesn’t exist with Carter and Bridges.
How many slow, heavy footed big men have been stars? Carter is limited.
How many 3D guards with no ability to create for himself have been Stars? Bridges is very limited.
I expect Bridges to fall to a team like Philly and do great for them... assisting their stars. But we still need a star.

Re: Draft Thread 5.0: Needing a Pat Williams Miracle
Fair enough Magic101 and PennytoShaq.
To me, Bamba and JJJ are the most project players in this draft.
To me Bagley and Ayton are the two best bigs.
And I value Carter over Bamba and JJJ, because I think he is more ready now, than they are.
Doncic, Young, MPJ, and Mikal are the best PGs and wings IMO.
And to be honest, I don't want any of the bigs. I believe we need a PG or wing. As I believe Isaac will eventually end up at the 5, not the 3.
Those are my opinions though and yes yours may differ.

Unless Mikal stuns everyone in workouts and someone falls far, he won’t be taken at 6.
Orlando’s choices will be between Young, Porter, and JJJ based on who Memphis selects. Bank on it.

I like almost nothing about Carter. Who would you compare him too? I fail to see any good comparables that makes him a top 6 type of pick. At least with JJj, who I’m not a fan of, I see the length and speed.

Compare him to Horford/Monroe.

Carter is not that slow footed. He has some ability to attack of the dribble. Add shooting, passing and iq and i am not sure why he cant go 6. He is fairly long too with 7'3 wingspan
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

He’s much more mobile than Monroe and he has some range. Not to shabby of a shot blocker either. I don’t know where the Monroe comps came from.
