I still feel like Jason Smith for Tyson Chandler makes sense if we try to move mahimi down the road. They get a salary dump and we get a better defender and rebounder as a back up center that's cheaper than mahimi.

If they acquire Chandler then Gortat would need to be dealt.

A deal I would love is Gortat, Smith, and Burke for Chandler, PJ Tucker, and John Jenkins.

(I posted this in our trade thread after reading your Chandler suggestion.)

Trading Gortat would be the greatest stupidity... He is our player with best efficiency/minute after Wall. The only one to be over 0,5eff/min (with Wall)....

Porter, Gortat and Wall are the only players to be underpaid in this team for this year. Maybe Morris too....

We can say our 5 is good. We need Beal to make shoots because he is overpaid at this moment...

The main problem is our second unit! Only 5 games were played but we can see there is a big problem. Total efficiency of second unit is 93 in 387 minutes... It is under 0,25!!! And we can't say it is a good defensive unit!

It was stupidity to acquire Mahinmi at that price.

I really only want Gortat to go to a better scenario and to improve the problematic second unit by trading two of Ernie Grunfeld's glaring mistakes away.

Marco, forgive my mistake. Gambit really wants Chandler for Mahinmi.

This I agree with, totally.

Ian Mahinmi for Tyson Chandler? I take this deal... May be a great short term deal taking in consideration Mahinmi injury.

The problem may come later, because of CHandler age, his skills will drop faster... Not sure they will trade Chandler for Ian.

But I don't think a trade can solve our problems.

1) We need to wait our second unit to play better. They are able to. Burke, Smith and others had better ratings in past saisons. They are not ready... Just look Smith. He is lost. Each ball he had was a turnover...

2) We need to shoot better. John Wall is a horrible shooter so we need Bradley Beal to make them... He is paid for it. Let's hope this start of saison was just a shooting accident.

Welcome, Marko -- glad you're here.

Burke & Smith have always been awful. I don't think we'll see much improvement there.

The Suns aren't trading away Chandler to bring in Mahinmi at more $$$. Why?

Ditto your trade, CCJ -- I can't see why the Suns would take on Smith and Burke. The Suns or anyone, really. Just a couple more of Ernie's "last stop in the league" acquisitions. There've been a lot of them.

Jason Smith was paid $18,000 dollars for every minute he played this season, what a deal!

I love that, even in contract negotiations with a craptastic player like Jason Smith, Ernie still gives Smith a player option. Is there any player he has ANY leverage on?

Shocker  I would wager a large sum of money that Smith would have been out of the league had we not signed him, now he'll get another 4-5$Million dollars. Man NBA life is good.

Leverage? He wouldn't use it if he had it.

We got the best bench player 5 million can ask for and when Meeks opts in we'll have two useless vets.

What a horrible offseason that was.

Beal
Oubre
Porter Morris
Horford Gortat
