RTL before Germany - Czech Republic:
Lehmann: "I remember when I was a young player for Schalke and we played Braunschweig when Hrubesch was their manager. We lost 0-1 after I made a mistake. Hrubesch came to me after the game and consoled me.
Hrubesch: "I've never been manager for Braunschweig."

Funny, Germany managed to win this Major International Tournement with their reserve young squad...
They sent one U21 team to Europe U21 Tournement which they won, then sent another one to Confederations Cup and they managed to win it also... Against team with Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.
And it was without First Team players the likes of Neuer, Kroos, Muller, Boateng, Hummels, Reus, Ozil etc., who were on holidays.

Petersen over Wagner is an interesting decision by Löw. Guess Petersen won't make the final team, but Wagner won't like that. No Götze makes sense.
Also, how stupid are Gündogan and Özil?

Wonder how stupid Wagner will look like for ending his national team career after the now inevitable injury to a striker in training camp

Leno, Tah, Petersen and Sane are the 4 who won't make the final team. Leaving Sane at home seems like a huge mistake to me.
In other news, I'm now officially convinced that Sebastian Rudy is Löw's secret lover. Good for them.

Thats what you get for not showing up in the NT friendlies. Same. Brandt didn't show much more either.
Can't believe Rudy Made the team either. Rudy made the team.

Can't believe Low didn't pick Sane. He's had a really fantastic season at City.
Has he not played well at international level?

He has not played well in the games I have watched, but then again most of his games were friendlies and the entire team usually sucks in those.
He would've certainly added more to the team than Rudy IMO.

Cant blame Löw here. Sane has shown too little in the NT games. Effort was just not there.

Sane hasn't shown much with the national team so far and he was pretty bad in that friendly against Austria during the weekend.
He always kept the ball way too long, trying to dribble past five guys on his own and killed of quite a few counter attacks with a man advantage.
Though, I still would've taken him over Brandt, given that Sane's clearly better technically and could help during the last fivteen minutes if you're down a goal.
BTW: Picking Trapp over Leno's a bit strange as well. Leno hasn't been great, but at least he's got regular playing time while Trapp was only sitting on the bench at PSG.
That means we're going to the world cup with two of our three keepers having hardly played for the last season and one guy, the one supposed to be our #1, coming back from a long and tough injury.

Neuer will do his job as usual.
I would have more of a headache if ter Stegen was in goal given he was not always convincing in his NT performances.

Nope, he hasn't. It's also a little because for Germany Sané is expected to play more centrally when he does play and that's not (yet) something he's accustomed to.

Özil stepping down from the NT. Though it comes as no surprise given how Grindel and Bierhoff have thrown him under the bus to try and save their a$$es.
It's a bit over the top but if it helps getting Grindel out of the german FA I woldn't mind it.
