Ray Spalding is definitely one of those "if he ever puts it together" guys.

robinson was a top 3 center, and top 10 overall, in his recruiting class
That makes sense. I just think they're the same type of player, probably have similar length, but Antetokounmpo isn't a moron.
He's not? Remind me, where's he projected to be drafted after averaging 5 pts and 3 rebounds at a mid major? If his name was John Smith, would he have even been invited to the combine?

ESPN (DX) has him going to Philly in the late 2nd.

Then trade the pick for a NBA player.

Which leads me to believe that he would go undrafted if he wasn't related to Giannis.

Reasonable conclusion. I would add that the genetic connection to Giannis though is a rational reason to want to scout Kostas given Giannis' development track. He's not going to be Giannis if he improves at a Giannis-like rate but he is going to be someone you'll want to have talked to.

I think he's likely off the board before we pick, maybe even top 10, but I'm glad to see this anyways. He and Robert Williams are probably my two favorite semi-realistic targets right now.
I still have a long ways to go in terms of scouting guys, but so far, looking at the guys projected 14 and later (just using that as a cutoff of who we can realistically expect), I like, in order:
Robert Williams
Zhaire Smith
Aaron Holiday
Elie Okobo
Mitchell Robinson
I like a lot more prospects in our range this year than I did last year, where John Collins was basically the only guy I was remotely excited about.

Ron Swanson wrote:Not really a big fan of Jontay Porter to be honest. I get that he's got that modern big/pick & pop skill set, but he plays small. Seemed to struggle finishing at the rim at the college level, so I can only imagine how he'd struggle against NBA bigs. Isn't as physical you'd like crashing the boards, and he's not going to be some elite rim-protector or switch defender considering his lack of elite athleticism and physical tools. I'm just not a fan of bigs who aren't good at things that bigs are supposed to be good at. I just see him as a more situational Channing Frye, with maybe some better passing.
Yep not a fan either. Not much to add to what you have already said. Mind you i'm not going by highlights or those 10min scout clips on youtube. I'm watching whole games.
I probably wouldn't go big for this draft as all the best bigs will be gone by the time we pick and i'm not liking the others. Mitchell Robinson is the mystery man due to his situation. It will take a bold gm to take him.
In reference to our title winning year

I feel like I'm completely lost with no DX this year. What free sites are u guys using for videos? Really wish they would force everyone to play summer league and then have the draft

Just a few of the sites I look at:
https://nbadraft.theringer.com/ - In-depth scouting reports
https://www.thestepien.com/ - Under Tools, you can find a cool projection for each player along with shot charts
http://hoop-math.com/ - Has some cool splits for each college player
I'm guessing we might not be able to post a link, but if you google the right thing, you can pretty easily find a way to view ESPN Insider articles for free so you can view all of the DX stuff
And then just YouTubing players

Jontay with a 9'1" standing reach. Solid. Get him on the Giannis workout regimen and enjoy the results.

zhaire smith under 6'3 w/o shoes
Also interesting to see Kosta's measurements since we never got Giannis' and always wondered what they really were. Kostas 6'9 w/o shoes with a 7'2.25 wingspan and a 9'2 reach. Surprisingly only 195 lbs. Pretty sure that's how much Giannis weighed at 18 with poor nutrition. Also has average size hands

Per Givony
Trevon Duval, Anfernee Simons, Grayson Allen and Hamidou Diallo all tested vertical leaps over 40 inches (between 40.5 to 41.5). Still early, lot of guys left to be tested.
Anfernee Simons and Trevon Duval both with 41.5” max verticals

"When we first drafted Giannis, we measured him at 6-foot-8½," Bucks GM John Hammond says. But at midseason, the Bucks' strength and conditioning coach walked into Hammond's office. "He told me, 'The kid is still growing and I don't think he's done.'" By season's end, he was 6-11.
Over the past 18 months, Antetokounmpo has put on an impressive amount of muscle-his weight went from 196 pounds on draft day to 222 this season.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Sounds like Grayson Allen is shaping up to be one of the big winners of the Combine. Sounds like he's gonna go down as one of the most athletic guys in the class along with being one of the best shooters.

8-1 standing reach for a 2 guard is a problem, but he has a lot in common with the guy with that kind of size who's made it work (Gary Harris).
