Just think about that for a moment.

It wasn't a bad shooting night Carter is a great defender and he couldn't get an open look within 40'.

I know everyone wants him, it's almost like Exum all over again. I do have my doubts that Weham select him.

ohh good comparison to the Exum hype.

I was falling down that hole again. Time to refocus.

Wait, Exum didn't play in the NCAA, did he? I thought he was in an Australian league in high school. Can we stop this comparison? Exum was ALL HYPE. At least Young has college success to analyze.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

I only watched the one Sooners game again West Virginia and Jevon Carter shut him down.

It is for these fact that i would be fine on letting my criticisms go. If management look at him and say that his skill will translate to the NBA and will make our team better .... can play quality team defense and he won't get suffocated by isaiah thomas... why not pick him. But i can't assess that... so i'm leaving it to the experts. haha

Do you guys think Young is ready to insert into the starting lineup from day 1 or would it be better for the Magic to have a couple of veteran PGs on the roster who has the potential to start?

NO

All rookie PGs are horrible. Always.

The Magic is well placed to have Young on the bench behind Augustin. The next year is not so much as about wins but establishing the core for 2019/20. Here Young learning from Augustin is a good development.

Id not only start him from day one, id hand him the keys and give him the highest usage rate as well. If you draft a guy like Young you realize that that's the only scenario he is going to find success in. He needs to have the ball in his hands and needs to be initiating and creating the offense. If his game translates than I think he will be able to handle it early on.

Going with bamba, trade assets like fournier and vucevic for another pick then draft a point guard

He had a handful of interviews already. He had a few more this week. Orlando and many other teams have not yet met with him.

What else is there to take from it?

Who have the Magic held interviews with?

It feels like we are focused more on the coach at the moment and then likely having that person be a part of the draft interviews. News is starting to come out that this will happen soon. But we heard on lottery night that conversations with player against would begin the next day. So we aren’t ignoring the draft either.

interviewed 4-5 people today who all are Mock'd mid-late 1st round.. I'm not worried as we have a month to go and he should be brought in unless he's trying to not land in Orlando

I'm convinced that Trae Young has the potential to be an elite scorer and very good passer in the NBA.

Having said that, if you are convinced that he is healthy, I believe that Porter has the potential to be a truly transformational player - someone that leads a team and truly makes everyone around him better, while dropping 20 per night. If you are absolutely convinced he is healthy, I think he has to be the pick.

I don't know what's better but I'd bring him off the bench. Let him learn behind DJ, play with Isaac, and hopefully Mario, and let those 3 try to raise the value of Biz in the 2nd unit (assuming Vuc is still here). Opposing PGs will be going for his head so let him learn vs backups and occasionally vs starters. Now if he come out guns blazing and tears it up, gotta throw him to the fire.

Carter had a tough choice but chose Duke over Harvard.

Relax. Hype is hype and both players were/are polarizing on this board.

I remember being so pissed we passed on Exum, it affected my night, while celebrating a friend's wedding. Can never allow myself to feel so strongly about a damn basketball player. Just sports and entertainment.

I'm happy with whomever they draft and look forward to summer league in Vegas this year.

*Seeing Young and Isaac tear up Vegas and having the internet buzzing about our pillars would be **** awesome*

I would just start him **** it. Trade Vuc and Fournier hopefully and roll out AG/Isaac/Young/Ross/Biyombo and just let them play. We are going to be awful regardless but at least that team would be exciting to watch rather than these last couple miserable seasons.
