I prefer Bogdan off the bench if we grab Doncic. He can be the primary ball handler in the second unit which I think is more to his strength.

To close out games, Fox/Hield/Bogdan/Doncic should all be in the game.

I agree with all of this. Bogi coming off the bench to run the second unit is a great way to utilize his strengths. We will need someone who can get a bucket in that lineup though. He can’t do it all. Hield just needs to be on the floor with Doncic. His shooting and off-ball movement will be utilized correctly and efficiently with him.

I'm watching a lot of Michael Porter stuff and I keep thinking we could be passing up on a superstar. I see Kevin Durant potential. It's really all about his health. Maybe by the draft we'll have a good enough look at him and see that he's back and he might end up being the pick.

Ya I think Mason can also get some buckets on his own, and hopefully Jackson becomes a better 3pt shooter. Plus if Skal is on the bench with Randolph it would make a lot of sense.

WCS/Koufos or Randolph
Giles/Skal
Doncic/Jackson or Temple
Buddy/Bogdan
Fox/Mason

is what id like to see

Though if I had to guess, Joergers lineup will look like this on opening night.

WCS/Koufos
Randolph/Skal
Temple/Doncic
Bogdan/Hield
Fox/Mason

You are probably right, although I don’t like it. That second unit looks like a scary, scary unit for opposing teams though. I have a feeling that second unit replaces Mason with Shumpert. It helps with the defensive side of things. Doncic is allowed to facilitate and take the slower defender.

He clearly posses elite length which is extremely valuable in the NBA. Honestly it wasnt long ago he was considered the #1 prospect. Pre-injury he was an explosive athlete and could block some shots. He can also create his own shot. If he is the next Jayson Tatum that would be a perfect fit for our team.

If his health checks out and we are 100% sure he wouldn't have any back issues id be very happy with him. That said its impossible to say it won't come back even if he is healthy so thats why Doncic is the safer bet IMO.

I hope to the basketball gods we don't give Shump one minute next season. Hes garbage and has no place with our future, i'm okay with Temple whose a good mentor and hustles every play.

Elite length because it’s questionable if he’s a 3 or 4 IMO. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As a Trae fan I know others don’t feel he will translate (not that I need him with Fox at 2)

His elite length, coordination, ability to create his own shot, ball handling, pure scoring ability, all around game including pretty good defense and rebounding, and most importantly the intangibles of a star player. He has the demeanor, the feel for the game and basketball running through his veins. Plus, I just found out he's vegan now so I'm even more on his bandwagon lol

In an age of positionless basketball that's no longer a problem. If he gets his athleticism back hes capable of guarding both 3 and 4.

Durant is weak as hell but he does fine guarding 4s all game.

Truthfully I always hear "hes not strong enough to guard the 4" but there's almost no back to the basket 4s anymore. Even guys like Blake have become more face up players. I wont be surprised if long term porter is a 4 and I love having a guy like him in that spot honestly.

Plus they dont get much weaker than skal (even though I love the kid)

He went to the toilet well before he went on that diet. Nothing will save Kap lol. Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving and Wilson Chandler are vegan. A world's strongest man Patrick Baboumian is vegan. The only U.S. weight lifter to make it to the 2016 Olympics, Kendrick Farris, was vegan. He broke a U.S. record for the clean and jerk. UFC fighter Nate Diaz is mostly vegan. Venus Williams is vegan. Garrett Temple may be vegan- there's not a lot of info on it. Enes Kanter may be vegan. Scott Jurek, a record breaking distance runner is vegan. Plenty more examples out there.

Start Bogdan to keep the versatility in the lineup we’d always have one of Fox, Bogdan, or Doncic in the game as a pg with the 2nd unit

Luka it is. Thanks all.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Compared to his height he doesn't really have elite length. And yes, if he's a PF then he's around average.

Elite length as in the average player with his skill set is between 6'6-6'8. The difference is hes 6'10 or 6'11. Regardless what position he plays he stands to be a matchup nightmare for either small forwards or power forwards.

Look at Durant its nearly impossible to block his shots.

I'm not saying we don't take Doncic. All I'm saying is that I have a really good feeling that if MPJ can stay healthy, hes going to be playing in many all star games down the line.
