Man, I hadn't realized how terrible Celtics have been on the road this post-season:

Maybe.

I see it as his biggest flaw as a Hawk. He's so friggin' passive.

Sometimes being passive comes from fear of choking. But maybe not.

I don't think it's choking, per se. But I wouldn't challenge anyone who calls it that. I think it's just a manifestation of the fact that he's not an independently high-level player. His level of play is overly dependent on what his teammates are doing ... iow, he's a high-end roleplayer.

Scalabrine said it well this morning. Said STTE: "Man when the Seees share the ball, you see how good Al can be .. but when they don't share it .. he's just ba- ... uhm, blah, blah...." He caught himself before saying he's bad.

Right on! It's the same Al it's always been. The C's didn't turn him into some great player. They just have a much more talented team.

IDK. It seems that he's being utilized in a more effective manner...offensively.

It's saying something that Horford has been a key cog in the starting lineup for a EC Finalist 3 times in the last 5 years.

With 3 different starting lineups.

Is this year's team more talented than the others...probably. But do we believe that Isaiah Thomas-Avery Bradley-Jae Crowder-Amir Johnson lineup last year was more talented? Especially when we beat that same core in AL's last season here?

Dude is absolutely a flawed player and is passive beyond belief. But when used properly, we've seen him have individual and team success at every single level of basketball.

I'm not disagreeing. Like him or not the guy is a winner. The IT team was not more talented than the 60 win Hawks team but they did have a go to scorer which we didn't. But they also got essentially the same results as we did. struggled to win a couple series against dysfunctional teams then smoked by the Cavs. So Horford/Stevens didn't elevate those teams beyond anything the Hawks did with Horford.

As much as I didn't like the way Horford exited, what a friggin genius move on his part. Call it luck or whatever but what a career changer.

And this was my issue with the entire BudCox era (and fans/defenders of their regime).

They believed they could duplicate that middling level of success.

I was skeptical, even then.

Spoiler:
Jamaaliver wrote:My fear...we're secretly still a treadmill team and don't know it. If AL doesn't get a single putback bucket in Game 5 against WAS...we likely don't make it past Round 2 this year.

And if we can't even compete against a wounded CLE team, I'm reluctant to believe we can beat a healthy Cavs squad NEXT year.

The Cavs look strong early. Couple of solid defensive possessions by K Love and George Hill. JR is bombing and Rozier is getting involved in some mismatches. Watching this though makes me actually want to try and sign Rozier while drafting Bagley and combining them with Collins and Prince. Just a thought but we will probably groom our own point when Dennis is dealt.

I think I just saw the best fullcourt pass and catch in my life...Love to Lebron...wow...I don’t think I’ve seen a better one. Never watched Unseld though but know he was the best. He didn’t have a Lebron to catch it though.

Rozier is not a FA. So the only way to get him is via trade and I'm opposed to ANY trade involving strAinge.

No I know remember I’m the one that caught kg slippin on that Rozier front. I was speaking of our future plans not necessarily this summer. This summer I don’t really want super impact players because we need one more strong top 5 type draft next year, then we go after guys like..Rozier and others.

KingKorver was channeling Dikembe Maravich las' night, for sure.

Good to see considering what he's gone through this year.

Al Horford had 0 offensive rebounds for the second straight game! Also, he dished out a whopping 1 assist(s). Woo hoo!

I say good riddance. It's clear we're better off without him.

And the Celtics are all the worse for him being there.

I hear Boston might waive him and eat the rest of his contract before Game 5.
