Who knows with the guys running things right now, they make very odd decisions. Like trading a first round pick for future second round picks or not picking up the option on Hezonja. Not sure any other GM would make these moves.
I haven't been overly impressed with them. It's been a year and haven't seen anything that has given me confidence. I'm disappointed because we still have no idea where they are going with this team. No coach, no trades, no revamped roster. Feels like a year at a stand still.
I agree with you, but I'm willing to give them until the end of the summer to pass judgment. But yeah it does feel like a year at a standstill.
Yeah. I'm not off the WeHam Bandwagon or anything but i'm not blown away by them either. In a recent interview, they asked Weltman if he is taking into the consideration that though this is the 1st year for him, it is the 6th year for the fans of the organization. I thought it was a great question. It's been 6 years since I have seen a Magic team on the floor that made sense. I'm not even talking about a winning team. Just a team that made sense both from a talent fit standpoint and a coaching strategic standpoint. This team has been a mess for years and it's frustrating to hear management talking about evaluating players when anyone with common sense could see that this team is going nowhere.
And my feeling is that the team needed to get as bad as possible as fast as possible. Even if you don't get great value for players, the subsequent High draft pick and development of young players were far more important than evaluating the current talent on the roster. They didn't do that. Plus, they seem to take forever to make moves and that's also frustrating. They took forever to make a trade, forever to sign someone in free agency and are taking forever to sign a coach. I can understand wanting to be thorough but thorough doesn't necessarily mean getting it right. You can take forever and still get it wrong. They really need to show me something soon because this is extremely frustrating to watch.
