At this point it’s becoming clearer and clearer that you cannot trust KD to make intelligent decisions with the ball. He is a finisher and that’s it.

Yes, we would. I love my mom more than anything, but if she started talking **** to my coworkers I'd tell her to knock it off. I'm not even an NBA player, I'm just a regular Joe but you can't let your parents embarrass you. You've probably stood up to your parents plenty of times and didn't even realize it. They raised you, but you're an adult now.
