This is exactly why I think the Cavs will win besides the absurd amount of calls they get in favor of them at home.

they don't show rockets games in your market?

Harden on offense and Marcus Smart on defense are 1A and 1B.

I don't want this to sound like I'm complaining about the officials, but there was a stretch in the game where LeBron went to the basket three or four straight times. It didn't look like he got fouled.

But when you see the replay, you could tell that the Boston defender on each play was leaning their body into LeBron. When almost every other similar play had happened in this series, the offensive player gets the call. G Hill, Tatum, Brown - by showing that they were affected. LeBron wants to finish so he doesn't do what other guys do and flail their bodies. These are the types of situations where he's taking more uncalled contact than any other player in the league.

Yeah. if not for the timely offensive rebounds (Nance, TT, Love), this game should have been closer. Pathetic refereeing on both sides for this game still, the Cavs are better when Bron doesnt go god-mode. He had a quiet 42. Love was terrible this game , hope he steps up in G5 and Hill carries the momentum to the next one. Still seeing Cavs in 6

GREY 1769 wrote:I don't disagree about natural motion, but the consequences - Love's landing space being impeded - influenced what normally is not called. It's not about intending to 'kick', nor about my definition of a leg kick, but about what the refs called and why.

Not every player has such a shooting motion where they get a natural forward foot motion ie/ Bird who was exceptionally compact shooting the 3, barely lifting his feet, but some players ie/Kawhi who actually often lands with his feet quite wide apart on Js, so he has to be careful about where he lands.

Look it is a foul in the rule book. They dusted it off and called it mostly, I think, because it had the effect of Love not being able to land, unintentional though it was. Otherwise, they'd have likely let it go as they usually do. Harder to ignore in this instance.

So you must feel this is an offensive foul:

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/8dafm4/ridiculous_foul_call_on_victor_oladipo_on_kevin/

Do you honestly not see the difference between Dipo flying so close into Love's body - so even if yes Love leaned in, but he was able to get that call because of Dipo's proximity to him - and Love literally flying by Morris? If we're going to compare calls, we have to compare same instances (O player kicking out motion, like OP mentioned with Curry); these are not the same plays.

You said that the foul was warranted on Morris because "it had the effect of Love not being able to land, unintentional though it was". The key point, according to you, was "Love's landing space being impeded".

How can you not say Oladipo's landing space was impeded?

If Love didn't intentionally lean two feet to his right, Oladipo would never make contact with him.

So are you saying that it's okay to intentionally draw contact and impede a defender's landing spot, as long as it's with your entire body and not just your leg?

The only thing I really want to say about the refs is to let them play. It makes basketball games a lot less fun. How many players were in foul trouble?

Yeah that had to have been the quietest 40 point game I've seen in a while. I don't feel like he was particularly good tonight to be honest.
