Eh, dont read too much into it. He is young and angry at the loss. And FWIW, I cant remember Jaylen ever complaining about officiating in the postgame press conference, so that might be a variable to consider...

They are a few inches from being winless on the road for the entire playoffs. All of the pressure right now is on Boston. They are the team of the future, but in the present they are a very young inexperienced team that goes through long cold streaks. They now have a one game season. They aren't winning in Cleveland. It is play lights out at home or sianara.

But Boston doesn't have to win on the road to win the series...

True, but most, including myself, still feel that the Celtics are considerably more likely to lose at home than win at The Q; that's our point. There's no guarantee that the Celtics will protect their home-court in a decisive Game 5 or Game 7, especially with more momentum and psychological reassurance for the Cavaliers on the coattails of these past-two games, so they could have used a potentially crucial safety cushion with a road win.

If they can wrest the series back in their favor in Game 5, however, then I'd like their chances to close it out in Game 6, but that'll be far from a cinch even on their home floor.

Celtics young players are almost disadvantaged by what they get away with at home tbh. The hand check. They wrap in the post. That's just on defense.

Seems like it must be pretty normal the way they react to calls elsewhere

No we don’t. Screw him.

Yeah screw the guy that brought you your last championship. If it wasn't for Ray, Celts would've never won. He should've been finals MVP that year.

this to me is the heart of the problem. the way the game is called is what minimizes the diversity of athletes, and therefore types of competitor and style. certain styles are outlawed. nba basketball is far less physical than european soccer. that is a travesty. in earlier eras, steph curry would be treated like a pinball. in this era they mow down the forest for him and roll out a red carpet. i honestly feel that if we transplanted hedo turkgolu to the 2019 nba he'd be in the goat conversation. he'd lift his leg on ben simmons.

hedo once went 19-6-5 while shooting of 40% from three. and he started 82. at 6'10", what would that pay in fall, 2019?

It's like DeRozan and Lowry running into defenders in the playoffs, not getting the call, and flipping out.

I do think. I also think (hope?) that Lue has gotten better about getting starters off the floor to rest and that Brad has some match up issues to deal with for the first time this post season.

What Boston was doing vs all the forced switching should be a mandatory class for all coaches. Make them work for it just like all other aspects of defense.

The odd thing about it was that LeBron is a mismatch on everyone anyway. But still, watch Kerr incorporate that reverse switching D.

Lebron is the keyholder out of the East. No one will likely figure a way past him until he retires.

Yeah it felt like a complete mismatch this game. I think Cavs found that spreading to a team offense is harder to stop for the Celtics.

What is your 1-10 rating on how much that matters in that series?

Well, Iggy was the MVP of the Finals in 2015 and couldn't play in Game 7 in 2016, so I'm going to say it matters.

Derozan and Lowry are superstars, for them to not get calls is odd.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
