When I read this I was thinking what does this say about Bledsoe and his time with the Suns? Here is a question what would be Coach Koko's impact on Payton with his new manageable haircut? When Payton entered the NBA he was known as a good defender and before coming to the Suns he was shooting 37% on low volume of 3s. Can Coach Koko get him back to being a good defender and get him shooting a good percentage on 3s?

I don't

I haven’t commented on that, but they could lose the locker room and player's trust.

JJ didn’t hesitate when he said Ayton and as someone here mentioned, pointed at him after winning the lottery.

Also, when it’s a tie, you go with best fit and that’s a Ayton. Booker JJ and TJ are all good wings....Bender Chriss and Chandler......

Exactly, that is what i think it is going to come down to. Filling the center spot is going to be extremely difficult to do if we pick Doncic. Getting a restricted FA is going to be near impossible and all the non - restricted FA's don't want to come here.

If we roll with a line-up of Doncic book JJ Bender Tyson ... we will be in the top 5 of the lottery next year

There are a lot of unrestricted free agent centers too.

Yep, same. I don't think he will have Nash's point skills or shooting but he will be able to defend better with his size.

I think they are saying Sarver is enamoured with Doncic because of what Russilo apparently said on the Woj Pod. But yeah, because of Nash, that wouldn't surprise me. But true he saw Amare too so...not sure if all that would enter the equation and whether he would think of who was more important in that duo or not.

I believe even if we draft Doncic the ball will stay in Bookers hands, as he will end up running the point.

Booker/Jackson/Doncic/Bender/??????

McD and Booker have both spoke on how he will be working on his playmaking skills in the offseason, and i believe this is a major reason why. While Booker might not have the defensive chops to shut down PG's, he has the speed, length, and size to be disruptive against them. Him and Jackson can also switch defensive assignments depending on the make-up of the opposing team, not to mention its not like a single player covers the opposing player the entire game. Too many screens and pick and rolls and other maneuvers are made to switch defenders.

Capela is too expensive IMHO. In fact there are a lot of teams being killed cap-wise because they have overpaid for centers in a small-ball trending league. Honestly, I would prefer we pay Nerlens Noel for two years at half the max or less. His rebounds, block, and steal numbers as well as defense are definitely on the plus side. I don't see him getting paid as much this summer and could be a very good deal for us. Could be spoon-fed by Booker-Doncic-Jackson-and-Knight too.

Nerlens was one of my favorite players during his rookie season and I think we can get him on a 1+1/prove it deal between 5 and 10 mill. I still think he is Marcus Camby 2.0 but yeah he is a finished product at this stage of his career. He shouldn't have bet on himself and should have just taken the long term contract when it is was available rather than holding out for more upfront.

Only if he leaves the Klutch team.

I think Sarver likes him because he is a marketing dream. 750 million Europeans. Lots of Doncic fans to buy Suns gear. I am sure he like him as a player too.

1) It's not a tie ... right now as a basketball player Doncic > Ayton ... Ayton has a lot more question marks !!

2) You don't draft for fit as you can alway trade JJ or TJ. Take the best player available !!

3) Pass first point guards are hard to find. Doncic is going to play team ball and share. He won't mind shooting less if the team is winning. That's the most important thing. I'm so tired of watching ball dominate scoring PGs like Bledsoe.

Doncic isnt a PG.

Neither is a 6'10" Ben Simmons.

I can see the dollar signs in Sarver's eyes.

That stuff just gets distributed across the league unless it's sold from the Suns team shop. They would have more international exposure though.

Ill put it this way....if the Suns can bring in a big man assistant coach who has had plenty of success developing bigs and improving their motors...then I can get behind the Ayton train.

As of right now, I don’t know if we will be doing that.

Koko said he coaches based on the players strengths. I would imagine if we had decent size at PG-PF that we would primarily switch on screens. I think Payton has a hard time getting over screens so switching makes more sense for him. Gotta have size though, no Ulis for sure.

Lets bring in KG, jk but kinda serious..... In all honesty, I think its all going to come down to Ayton's medicals and interview.
I promise you Booker will be at the stadium and he will be voicing his Pro-Ayton opinions to our FO.

I prefer Doncic but I’m near 100% certain that Ayton is the pick no matter what (barring some tragic injury).

He can make to the interview smoking a blunt and he’s still the pick. He could sleep with Booker’s girl and Booker could beg Suns to pass on him and he’s still the pick.

It’s what’a marketable and sellable so the Suns will take Ayton no matter what even though I personally think Doncic would be the better selection for us.

The real question isnt Ayton vs Doncic. Is it Laurel or Yanny? Wheres the poll on that? Laurel has a nice step back game and a high IQ, but Yanny is a beast inside offensively and awesome upside.

Dedmon - could the Suns do sign and trade: Dedmon, Bazemore for Chandler - that saves a rebuilding team a bunch of money...granted, the Suns probably can sign him outright.

LOoney is a possibility
