Sometimes there are players who, in the minds of some fans who hate the FO, personify the management arm of the organization. Deng, Hinrich, McDermott, these guys all took their turns. Because Dunn and Lavine were the immediate returns in the trade of Butler - a beloved player for the most part - they started out with two strikes and a smoking slider nearing home for strike three.

Can y'all post this places? Reddit, twitter (tweet at people?), facebook, other forums, etc? Anywhere you guys post this is super helpful.
Also have ones on...
Miles Bridges breakdown - https://thefrontofficeeye.com/2018/05/21/miles-bridges-breakdown/ (no video...yet?)
Mikal Bridges breakdown - https://thefrontofficeeye.com/2018/03/27/1053/
Mo Bamba breakdown - https://thefrontofficeeye.com/2018/04/10/mo-bamba/
This is great. Do you have a big board? Curious as to where Huerter ranks. I’d be thrilled to get him at 22.

IMO I'd go with Young an figure the rest out later. Not sure how much better Carter is than Lopez.
I tend to agree and even if the backcourt pieces don't end up meshing long term their is still enough minutes between the 1 and 2 spots for Young, Dunn and Lavine to have enough court time to grow, imo.
This isn't like the 76er's drafting 3 centers in a short span that couldn't really be on the court together.
This is a bit of a tangent, but if I was Hoiberg and the Bulls drafted Young, I'd sit down Lavine and Young before training camp and tell them whoever plays the better defense is the starter along with Dunn. The other will come off the bench and be our 6th man.
This would be an excellent and guaranteed way for Hoiberg to lose the team. Dunn was top 5 pick himself two years that showed major strides last season and playing for his career and LaVine is a guy we looking at be a top scorer for us that will soon be the highest paid player on the team by far. Talklike you are suggesting is why people would not want to draft Young even if he is the best player available. If Young is the best he will prove it. You don't hand him the job. This is even worse when you consider Young will probably be the worst defender of the three by far and that is saying something considering LaVine's rep.

I don't feel like demanding that a player has to focus on defense if they want to start is going to be detrimental to a team.

Explosive athlete who is longer and has (in theory) a very workable shot. Also is one of the youngest players in the draft.
Izzo blew it with that kid, that's the only reason he might fall out of the top 4.
It was Izzo's fault he couldn't stop fouling like a maniac?

is that all? Would it surprise anyone if Wendell ends up being a better NBA player than JJJ?
This is my thing with this draft, outside of arguably the top 2 players, the rest of the top 7 are pretty interchangeable. There's a lot of melodrama these days with people acting ecstatic at the prospect of drafting JJJ and downright suicidal if the Bulls draft Wendell Carter jr. But I'm just not perceiving this massive gap in talent that would cause me to have so much conviction one way or the other about the draft picks at the top of this class. Maybe I'm wrong though, who knows

Um that still doesn't explain why Young is handed a job and Dunn and LaVine have to compete for the other spot based on who plays better defense. Why is Young getting special treatment? Why is his focus on defense not important? It would be wrong to assume he is going the best player of the three next season so how does that work in terms of locker room chemistry?

He plays much longer than Carter. Some of that is length, some of it is vertical pop, some of it anticipation.
When you watch the two, do you have any doubt which is more physically gifted?

but man real gm bulls forum is harsh on dunn(lavine too) but y'all just rip dunn to shreds. I like dunn's attitude,he's a great teammate who works hard he'll be solid player at the least. Give him a chance and again he has the best chemistry with lauri out of any bulls player/pg's
If the bulls drafted young(assuming the top 6 are all gone) I wouldn't be upset at all.Talent is talent you figure fits/roles out later
I thought Dunn was playing like a boarderline all-star before he broke his face. So I have an open mind on him going into next season. I don't even care what the "advanced stats" say. It was a crap team. Nobody is going to have strong advanced stats on this past years squad. I'm going by the eye test and what I SAW him doing during that tank - demolishing stretch.....that ended when he broke his face
I completely agree.I saw dunn close out the jazz with some daggers, led the bulls to a win vs the hornets I think he had 12-14 points in the 4th and several other good to great games. I recall some bull fans last summer saying they rather have dennis smith jr., dunn destroyed dsj in dallas held him to 5-14 and scored 32. This was one of his best games of the season
Does dunn need to improve his jumper and finishing at the rim? Absolutely, but I just don't understand the disdain towards him. Those same advanced stats everyone loves to lean on says lauri was a net negative on offense & defense last season. Not to mention dunn is already a good defender he had the highest dpm on the team which is impressive when he played for a tanking bad defensive team.
During that stretch, he may have even looked like a boarderline superstar if he didn't blow so many finishes on his drives. That was his achilles heel

If Dunn can get his finishing ability to average he could have a great season.

For real, I like Dunn a lot too. One year with Hoiberg helping him with his shot form and you saw improvements across the board:
+5.2 FG%
+3.3 3P%
+12 FT%
+5.6 TS%
That's one season, and the kid just turned 24 in March.

Well the person I quoted was suggesting that Young should be handed the job while Dunn and LaVine fight for the other spot. That's ridiculous.
