People acting like klay can be a star and be a franchise face of a team is fooling themselves. This guy is as good as he will ever be on this team. He is Kyle Korver with real good defense.
It's funny to hear people say this but then next game he drills 7 3s in the first half and all of a sudden hes amazing.
Calling him a role player is a joke. He just has never had a chance to get in a rhythm. Blame Durant and curry, blame the rockets. Guys like him (knockdown spot up shooters) rely heavily on rhythm. When they are dropping they are unstoppable
Dude what did i just say lol? Kyle korver is the same thing He can hit 8 threes in a row if allowed to get in rhythm And look like a god Amongst men. But i wouldnt want him as my #1 ever. Great Player to have on a Great team. Not as good on a team that relies on you day in day out.
Listen Korver is awesome, I love to watch his as a player. But theres a reason hes averaged 10ppg for his career and never over 14ppg in any one season. While klay averaged 19 for his career and over 20ppg 4 straight seasons.
It's how often each of them gets hot. Korver gets hot two times the entire playoffs and maybe wins a game if you are lucky. His hot game is more like 19 pts on 6/6 from 3 and some free throws. Gets getting praised when he scores 14 while Klay gets demolished as trash when he does that.
Klay gets hot and hes able to drop 30 any given night. He doesnt need to run around screens, they pass it to him from 26' out and he drills it. Then like you said the defense is on a whole other level.
I would never want him as a #1 either, hes not cut out for that life. Hes an elite #2 who gets worse when he becomes your 3rd option because he isnt getting those touches.
I hate the warriors. Cant stand what Durant did. Wish klay would leave to play with Westbrook or lebron so people could see the difference he brings when you absolutely cannot leave your guy even for an instant.
