Prime CP3 with Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant would be insane. I still don't think they're better than the current GSW but the defense on that team will definitely be over 9000.

CP3 never had the luxury of sweeping teams without playing a single minute in the playoffs.

For most of his career he had to play great just to get out of the first round since his teams weren't anything special.

Spot on, Good analogy. Nash and Payton is another good example. One is a defensive liability in which teams purposely gameplan to go against. Other is one of the best defenders ever at PG who defends the likes of KD, Curry and Klay. Or the best offensive guard of the opposing team.

No it isn't.

In CP3's best days he is a great defender at his position... and that's it. He's not some force of nature that will change the entire gameplan of the other team because of his defense.

Chris Paul is a much better defender and distributer than Curry. Basketball at its simplist is about putting the ball in the basketball and Curry is one of the greatest all time at doing this so I'd rather take him.

It’s a close call - an argument could be made either way but CP3 is certainly a better defender. If the Rockets win the series then I think you could safely say that CP3 is still the best around abd the 2nd best guard period.
