And CP3 guarding KD on a few shots (from the top of my head I remember him chucking up a contested 3 on Paul, and it bricked badly, after a screen IIRC) doesn't really mean "he guards KD".

He isn't his primary assignment, and trying to guard Durant with Paul is suicide. Yeah he is going to try and defend him, raise a hand and contest his shots, but they're almost a foot apart in sheer size. It's not sustainable.

He's outplaying him in this series for sure. However, Curry's 2016 run was imo the greatest individual season this league has ever seen

Kyrie outplayed Curry but I don't think many are saying Kyrie is better. Curry is definitely better but CP3 is a great great player himself and when Curry isn't playing to his ability, CP3 can outplay him as he is doing this series.

He has pulled it off before, but it's a dumb idea given the number of adept wing defenders HOU has. It's similar to Jrue Holiday guarding KD. There are always a couple of PGs in the league, who can defend much taller players fairly decently.

But seriously, please stop with these hot takes. CP3 is a great player, one of the best PG's of all time, but Curry is just simply put better. Ask any coach who you would want to start a Franchise with between the 2, and everyone will say Curry

Not just a better shooter. He is the greatest shooter of all time. The domino effect of his impact is almost immeasurable compared to any other PG ever

Knee-jerk thread, but I don't disagree.
CP impacts the game every single way, and consistently throughout the game... Steph can get hot and put a game out of reach in a quarter or less. But Steph also gets in some very long dry spells. And during those dry spells, he is basically a decoy on offense and a liability on defense.
My take: Neither CP nor Steph can carry a team themselves like a Lebron, Kobe, etc., but if I were to pick one to lead my team (right now), it would be CP due to his D and composure on offense.
I remember CP on that redeem team. Him and Kobe were the main reason why that trip was a success. No matter the stage, CP has never been overwhelmed by the moment.

CP3 is no doubt a great player, top 10 PGs today, but be real, this is his 1st WCF in his career, while Curry is the master of the 3 point shot and has better handles. Oh, and has the hardware that trumps Paul's.
