what would you offer Boston in return for Brown? They just spent the 3rd pick in the draft on him and it appears he is playing pretty well. No one is untouchable but the celts are not going to trade him for a draft pick especially the 9th pick. It would take a lot more than that to trade Brown away.basketboule wrote:I'd also like Wendell Carter. He'll be good, but gone, like the rest of the promising bigs, too. I'm really not sold on the perimeter guys in this draft, Mikal being the lone exception. They've all got too meaningful holes in their games. So I would actually consider trading the pick to Boston, I'm serious.
If Mikal (or any of the top big men) is there, take him; else go after Rozier or Brown since they should be available from Boston. You could also ship out KP for an even bigger young return from them for all I care. I still don't trust him to be a legit enough go to scorer if he runs with the likes of Mikal and Frank. Boston is really stacked and will want to take the next step to challenge the Warriors. I'm really bored with our outlook and would like some of what they have, to be honest.
Then again, their success might all be on Brad Stevens, Danny Ainge and the culture they built. Any player leaving Boston seemingly fails to have the same impact again (and that's going all the way back to Rondo and company). I might be overreacting, but Sexton, Young, Shai... they all don't cut it really. They threaten to be the next Eddie House, MCW or Speedy Claxton.

You're right that he won't be available in such a package. I'd probably try to get Rozier in a single package or go after Brown and more of those Boston guys for KP.

THJ Kanter
For
Mahimi Morris Smith #15
Gives them some firepower off the bench and they dump some salary
We open up more space for the kids and get a great pick while also opening up 2020 cap space

Knicks trade #9 and Burke for #12 and #13
Trade #13 +Mudiay to Atlanta for 19 +30 +34
Trade Hardaway to LA Lakers for Deng + Unprotected pick 2020
Trade Lee to Philly for pick 38
#12 Miles Bridges.
#19 Walker/Brown Jr/Mitchell/Huerter/
#30 Holliday
#34 draft Grayson Allen
#37 Draft Ajdin Penava
#38 Draft Brandon McCoy
Sign KOQ to a 2 year 16 million dollar deal.
KP/Oquinn/McCoy/Kornet
Penava/Williams
Bridges/Willams/Walker
Allen/Walker
Ntilikina/Holliday/Jack
Noah/Deng/Thomas/Baker/Oquinn all coming off the cap by 2019 and then add a big star. I’d give Christian Woods a camp invite since KP will be our next year.
Full rookie team basically since Frank is young enough to be a rookie. Should lose enough for another top 8 pick. Will be set up to add 2 big FA in 2020 also.

Lowry and DeRozen will be available this summer
Gortat as well
is there any interest here in any of these guys?
Obviously the price for the first two would be inflated
they probably want a good player and a pick
I personally have no interest in either

I'm not a fan of any of those guys, to be honest.
What do you think if Enes somehow opts out and gets paid elsewhere, we use our cap to go after Smart (4 years @ $10m per) plus Baynes (3 years @ $7.5m per). Draft Mikal. Baynes, KP, Mikal, Frank, Smart could, at least, become one of the best defensive teams in the league. And they are all young. At least you'd be building something there... and getting some players who can bring over the "Boston winning culture" can't hurt. I could roll with that knowing that it's a very young squad and it's defense first and we'd have more draft picks being added every year.

Hopefully the Knicks look at some free agents like Cousins and Randle.

I dont think there is a chance in hell that the Celtics let Smart leave their team
Baynes isnt going either IMO
they aren't letting that team break up

Somebody threw out this idea
KP for Jaylen Brown / Sac pick.
I wouldn’t do it b/c I want to add to KP, but this seems like fair value.

No. Pass. Hard.
I'm not gifting Danny Ainge Porzingis (a FRANCHISE player), for that sad package. In case anyone is wondering, it's NOT the Kings #2 pick this year.

You are severely undervaluing Jaylen Brown, who is an up and coming stud on both sides and that is an unprotected SAC pick (except for #1).
Even though I wouldn’t do it, I still think it’s fair value.

frank + 9th pick for jaylen. i would do this one instead

Yeah that’s a way more favorable deal for us but I can’t see them moving him and/or Tatum for anything less than a stud.
I wouldn’t do the KP deal. Just think it’s fair value b/c of the SAC picking likely being in the top 10 again.
