Rookie specific threads on the General Board

I think given the unprecedented nature of success this rookie class is having, it would be a good idea to allow there to be rookie specific threads. The dedicated rookie thread often becomes a "rookie" measuring contest in that fans of a given rookie will just post overwhelmingly positive things about "their" rookie, while dismissing a different rookie, leading to often disjointed and inconsistent discussion. Having rookie specific threads would offer more in depth and consistent back and forth because you don't have posters chiming in about other rookies (as often at least), and would lead to fans of a given rookie giving more honest and critical assessments of the player. I believe this Kuzma thread serves as a good example:

I gained way more insight about Kuzma in this thread than I ever would have in the rookie sticky.


The mod I was discussing this with brought up the potential issue of the board being cluttered by threads about every rookie drafted. To address this I propose there be mod created threads for maybe the best 10 or so rookies (not sure what a good cutoff would be though), such as:

1)Ben Simmons discussion
2)Jayson Tatum discussion
3)Donovan Mitchell discussion

etc (example was unnecessary)

Since stickying that many threads would be ridiculous, I'd suggest having a link to each rookie specific thread in the first post of the rookie sticky.


Also yes I realize the PC board has basically this exact thing for certain players, but compared to the GB it's pretty dead.

A rookie/sophomore subforum with player & season specific threads (ie Ben Simmons rookie season thread, Lonzo Ball rookie thread, Joel Embiid sophomore thread) would be a pretty cool resource for learning about new players to the league without having to wade through posts on team forums or a combined sticky.

This could be a possibility down the line but for now, The GB or P.C. Forum is a good place for these.
