I think Horford is a top 10 player. I don't think it's debatable either. I look at the overall impact. I don't just look at the scoreboard. I actually watch and understand Basketball and understand how players play and how you can be utilized said player.

I am not one of those fans who sees a player struggling and says, well he sucks. I look at his role, his personnel grouping, his ability to fit said scheme and his ability to adjust to said scheme. I see the ENTIRE game. Not just if he can pass, rebound, shoot, has the tools. I look at everything. So when you said Al Horford, I see something different. I don't know what you see, but if you don't see what I see, that's fine but I just want you to acknowledge what I see and understand the effect it has on Millsap, Noah, Kyrie, IT and other players he's played with in the past. The man literally single-handedly made Kyle Korver an All Star. Name one player in NBA history who could do that?

I see the game differently. The only people who see the game like I do are some GMs like Ainge, coaches and scouts. Even Boston players dont realize how much easier Al makes the game for them.

Because he's not. He's exactly where he should be. An NBA All Star.

He's probably the closest thing we'll get to seeing how Draymond would fair if he led his own team right now in the POs. Whether that's a top 10 player/superstar is :-?

He's an NBA All Star, he gets exactly the recognition he deserves. I love the guy and he is an absolute winner. But what more should he get? He's not an MVP candidate, not a top 10 player. Exactly where he should be.

I love Draymond but he doesnt do anywhere near as much for GS on offense as Al did for Atlanta and Boston. Defensively, Green is still the best I've seen during my lifespan. I've seen Dwight, Deke, Green, Dumars, Jordan, LeBron, Rodman, Gobert, Horford, Noah, Chandler, Blaylock, Payton, Kidd, Wallace and others. No one is as good defensively as Green. No one.

What abilities does he use to be an absolute winner in your opinion?

Scoring, passing, defence? I can name 10 players I would rather have than him can't you?

Vague opinion for such a strong statement.

You probably could if you dont see the game that deeply. Horford is more of a possession by possession impact player. Hes not a 25/8/5 kinda guy. If that's what you prefer, then I rather not ask.

How did I make a strong statement? He deserves to be an All Star. But I don't know what more you think he is. He won 2 championships in College, lead that hawks team to 60 wins and is playing great basketball helping lead this Celtics team to an NBA Finals.

But off the top of my head I can name Lebron, Durant, Curry, Harden, Kawhi, Kyrie, AD, KAT, Lillard, Giannis, Westbrook, Jokic, Embiid, Klay as players GMs would 110% rather have than Horford. He is playing great in a great system but don't get crazy.

You aren't just a winner because you win. There is a reason why you win. What are the traits and abilities that make Al a winner in your opinion is what I am asking?

I would rather Horford over Embiid, Klay, Jokic, Lillard and Westbrook. There is not many players I would take over Al.

There are many traits that make Al a winner. One is composure. Although a vague answer Horford has displayed this all playoffs in hostile road environments (especially in the Philly series). Another is leadership; there is a reason those young players on Boston are able to play so great in these playoffs; Aside from coaching and their talent/grit, Horfords veteran presence plays a huge rule.

Ability wise a big one is his passing ability and unselfishness. He is always looking to make the right play as I'm sure you see and always has good assist numbers. Defence is another one; can be an anchor for a team and has done that with Boston this year (probably could have been on an all defensive team multiple times by now). Great defender inside and a good one on the perimeter w switches/ball screens.

I disagree with you with those guys you'd take over him but I think he is recognized to a fair degree. Top 20 player in the league and his multiple all star appearances reflect that.

Even with all he's done till now, he's a Top 15 player at best imo. I love the impact and the intangibles he brings, but his role players are making it really easy for him as well. I still cry with joy when he shoots though, because majority of his shots will always go in. And I feel comfortable with the team when he's on the court. As a matter of fact, that's the only time I won't have anxiety problems.

Still a top-15 player at best.

I dont think they make it easy on him as much as they are talented and play within the system. With Al, all you have to do is your role and he will cover the rest.

I dont really care about others opinions on Horford. I value my opinion a lot more when the topic is him, LeBron or a couple other players. That is no disrespect to you but coming to me saying chill is meaningless to me. I don't know you and frankly, I dont care about others feelings like that. Never have. Never will if the topic is hoops and particular players who I know in and out on the court. I am willing to listen and hear you out if you have an opinion but if you judging me. We'll see how much you and Ainge see eye to eye when he is traded in a package for KAT this summer

What’s the point in starting and thread saying Al Horford is a top 10 player and then saying to everyone who responds, “I don’t care about your opinion.”
