who cares if he is 63, average NBA tenure is about 4 years. If he stays 5 years and resets the culture here, what is wrong with that?
D'Antoni is coaching Houston in the WCF at 67.
With two superstars on his team. Do you think he takes the Rockets job at age 64, without Harden on the roster?
he took the job with just Harden.

Okay I realized that after posting, and my question was, do you think he takes the job at 64 without Harden on that roster?

His coaching philosophy is simple.
- Rebound, rebound, rebound
- Don't turnover the ball
- Take high percentage shots
- Play hard defense
- Make free throws
He says you'll win more games than you lose if you follow that mentality.

How about Butler and Brad Stevens? 2 guys - Hayward.......and Shelvin Mack.
Not really a great metric for NBA success, sorry.

He's 60+ in age, he has Michigan connections. That's all RDV and Martins are looking for. Or former Magic players.

Ummm Devos doesn't own the Rockets. I asked does D'Antoni take that job at age 64 without Harden on their roster. And the answer to the question, is probably not.

I'm not getting worked up by a story about our front office expressing interest in him though. Izzo has been at MSU for a long time. I'm just not sure what would compel him to take an NBA job at this point of his career when he hasn't previously.

Guess so. I think it just always irked me that Michigan St guys under Izzo don't pan out and I don't know why. Draymond Green did and he wasn't even a 1st rounder. Exception to the norm.
His success record is good. Maybe that's a good thing? That he can win despite not having NBA caliber talent?

well, Denzel Valentine and Deyonta Davis are on rosters. Gary Harris, Jason Richardson, Zach Randolph, all from MSU all under Izzo

For as long as he's been coaching and the program that he's had... that's a short and sad list.
