I can honestly say I've never seen nor heard those 6 words ever uttered before.

Well that could be the lack of good coaching or just plain and simple missing a good PG or someone who would make a smart play on the last pass. Or something else... And i do agree with your previous post to some extent. I mean PHX could use Ayton as some kind of a inside presence who could draw attention to himself and initiate the offense with passing to outside guards or by just collapsing defenses on him. But in Kokoskov system i see Ayton almost primary as PNR guy who can get himself open and shoot jumpers. Like Nowitzki was doing in DAL. But obviously thats just speculation. I am just purely looking how our team played in euro cup.

Well id love ayton on the pnr too... right now we suck with it. Frickin bannana hands Len cant do anything out of a PNR most of our team cant...We failed so many times last year. Like I said we could just really never get open no matter what we did. I think Ayton fills that hole.
I like the way Ayton finds openings on the court to get the ball whether low or high also our PNR would improve greatly. I think he would just change our team the way we need it to change.

Yup true but unfortunately i can not comment on how good Ayton is in PNR because i haven't seen him play yet. Just watched highlights. I do know that Doncic is a master because he plays like that all the time but i do hope Ayton has a good awareness on how to react etc.. Problem for PHX could be if Bender and Len suddenly become good then you have 3 bigs and no proper PG

he's a combo forward, not a guard.. you can hide him against the Saric, Mirotic, Anderson, Chriss, Horford, Morris... etc... basically slow forwards or PF/Cs....
Now imagine if Rockets had a Davis or Towns there... theres no way Warriors would go small ball, Green would be guarding a much bigger man who has offensive skills one on one.... they'd have to put Looney, McGee and West and that eases the pressure.
Archx wrote:I really hate todays style of basketball. I watched a bit of HOU vs GSW game last night and literally everything happens closer to the half court instead of closer to the basket. There was so much ISO plays even though both teams have insane potential in running proper plays with PNR, slashing setting proper blocks etc.. And thats why Harden went 5/21, incredibly bad basketball on both ends. Even Euro basketball has become more interesting to watch because they play tougher defense and make actual plays.
But then again the way HOU plays actually worked against good defensive team like Utah where they abused Gobert, one of the best defensive players. So if NBA is going to a new direction it will be interesting to see how Kokoskov uses Ayton. I can see him being more Garnett type of player instead of David Robinson. I really miss 00' basketball with kobe&shaq. Tough defense plus it was fun to watch.
