5-18 Just through the Suns 16 pick.

1. Suns--Ayton
2. Sacramento--Bagley (not risking messing with the Doncic thing. Takes Bagley and says he's their guy)
3. Atlanta--Porter (potential best player in the draft on the board, rebuilding team, worth the risk)
4. Memphis--Bamba (shoots up the charts, heir to Gasol, BPA)
5. Dallas--Doncic (this is where he slides with the threat of not coming)
6. Orlando--Trae Young (this guy will sell tickets. Made for Orlando)
7. Chicago--Can't believe Jackson is still on the board.
8. Cleveland--Mikal Bridges (If they are smart)
9. New York--Kevin Knox (another NY bust pick)
10. Philadelphia--Can't believe Wendell Carter is here. Perfect fit and need. Backs up oft injured Embiid.
11. Charlotte--Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Kemba is moving on
12. Clippers--Collin Sexton
13. Clippers--Robert Williams--Clippers just take the best physical talents available.
14. Denver--Mitchell Robinson. Jokic is best as a PF. Denver needs a center.
15. Washington--Wizards really wanted Robinson. Zhaire Smith is there. BPA.
16. Phoenix--Khyri Thomas. Suns finally get a Kyrie, just spells it differently. 3 and D guard to come off the bench. If they keep this pick they don't stretch for a pg. They take the BPA and work with it.

I'm just going to do the top 10 and assuming no trades

1. Phoenix Suns - Luka Doncic (Leaning this way)
2. Sacramento Kings - DeAndre Ayton (Not sure how in love they are with WCS)
3. Atlanta Hawks - Jaren Jackson Jr (Flip flopped between Bamba and JJJr)
4. Memphis Grizzlies - MPJ (High potential guy who's shooting should fit well with Gasol while Gasol is still playing)
5. Dallas Mavericks - Bamba (solid foundation piece and would really help with DSJ's porous defense)
6. Orlando Magic - Young (they desperately need talent at the 1)
7. Chicago Bulls - Wendell Carter (I like the Lauri/Wendell pairing a lot, complements each other and covers each other's weaknesses)
8. Cleveland Cavs - Mikal Bridges (BPA at this point and a very safe, medium potential guy)
9. New York Knicks - Miles Bridges (I think Miles fits well with Zinger with his skillset and size)
10. Philadelphia 76ers - Zhaire Smith (A guy who can really bolster their defense, play smart basketball and off Simmons)

Here are my guesses so far:
1. We take Ayton
2. Atlanta passes on Bagley for Triple J
3. Orlando doesn’t like Trae enough, so they end up with Wendell Carter
4. Bamba falls out of the top 10. I would bet on Charlotte. He can learn from Dwight.

We will. Hopefully we can use batsmasher's slick tool again but if not we can do it the old fashioned way.

1. Phoenix Suns - DeAndre Ayton
2. Sacramento Kings - Marvin Bagley
It's either Doncic or Bagley here, and I found bw's rationale re their lack of inside scoring compelling. I don't see why Sacto would be signalling a lack of interest in Doncic in an attempt to get us not to take him, as I'm sure they'd love to add Ayton.
3. Atlanta Hawks - Jaren Jackson Jr.
Whether it's about a concern that Doncic won't want to join a terrible NBA team, the fact that the Hawks are just starting their rebuild, or even the lingering concerns about racism within the FO, I think the Hawks go with the high upside, longer-term prospect here.
4. Memphis Grizzlies - Luka Doncic
Memphis wants to compete next year. Whether they keep or sell the pick, Doncic should fall no further than this.
5. Dallas Mavericks - Mo Bamba
Of the two players on the board worthy of a #1 pick in most drafts, this is the one that fits, and he fits beautifully. If they're seriously considering throwing a big offer at DMC, maybe they look to trade down, but even in that case, I think I'd still go Bamba here. Nice lob target for DSJ.
6. Orlando Magic - Trae Young
Huge mistake to go any other direction with this pick. Trae's a great fit, and I'd be shocked if they passed him up here.
7. Chicago Bulls - Wendell Carter
Could be a great long-term fit next to Markkanen. Gives them D, rebounding and outside shooting. High character as well. Easy pick here.
8. Cleveland Cavaliers - Mikal Bridges
I think they go into this summer trying to retain LeBron. And whether or not they succeed, Mikal is probably the smartest pick. MPJ could be absolutely useless next season, and I think he's simply too risky here. Grab the best 3&D prospect since Thompson, the guy who can make an immediate positive impact. If LeBron dips and they need to rebuild, he's also not the kind of guy who could keep this team from falling to the bottom of the heap.
9. New York Knicks - Michael Porter Jr.
I'm not a fan of this pick, but I can't see the Knicks passing on the upside, here. They should be worried about relying on two players with major injury concerns for their long-term prospects, but the alternatives here aren't great. Sexton, Williams and Miles Bridges could all be options here.
10. Philadelphia 76ers - Zhaire Smith
Philly grabs the 3&D guard who can play in place of, or next to, Fultz. High floor and high ceiling.
11. Charlotte Hornets - Collin Sexton
I think Jordan would be impressed by Sexton's competitive fire, and this allows them to do the thing they most desperately need - trade Kemba. This team is deep at spots 3-5, which makes all of the other prospects in this range a problem, given that very few (or none?) of the players CHA plays at these positions has positive value.
12. LA Clippers - Miles Bridges
Tobias has worked well for the Clippers. Why not pick up another? For now, he could take Wes Johnson's minutes.
13. LA Clippers - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Hard worker, high ceiling. Robert Williams is an option here, if they want to move on from Deandre, but how much of an upgrade would he be over Montrezl Harrell?
14. Denver Nuggets - Robert Williams
As others have mentioned, Williams could be a great fit next to Jokic.
15. Washington Wizards - Josh Okogie
16. Phoenix Suns - Khyri Thomas
17. Milwaukee Bucks - Gary Trent Jr.
18. San Antonio Spurs - Melvin Frazier
19. Atlanta Hawks - Kevin Huerter
20. Minnesota Timberwolves - Jerome Robinson
21. Utah Jazz - Jontay Porter
22. Chicago Bulls - Chandler Hutchison
23. Indiana Pacers - Mitchell Robinson
24. Portland Trailblazers - De'Anthony Melton
25. LA Lakers - Jacob Evans
26. Philadelphia 76ers - Elie Okobo
27. Boston Celtics - Donte DiVincenzo
28. Golden State Warriors - Shake Milton
29. Brooklyn Nets - Dzanan Musa
30. Atlanta Hawks - Kevin Knox
31. Phoenix Suns - Jevon Carter

Return to Phoenix Suns
