Take on wiggins, pair up Whiteside with Randle, man people trying to lock the lakers into mediocrity and failure

Yeah honestly i wish they'd just confirm it, for both us and the thunder's sake (also salty Westbrook in the summer would make for good tweeting).

Why else would they be on our board?

No to Whiteside

1st is PG and 2nd see if Kawahi can be had

Building a good athletic bench is important. I seen so many team with a great 1st unit but the bench is weak.

The thing with San Antonio though is, they are heading for the doldrums big time... Think about it... How many seasons have we missed the playoffs now?
A team built around Kawhi is not going to be a whole lot better, and San Antonio isn't the Marketing draw LA is. I honestly think if the Spurs start missing the playoffs, they're going to have a hard time filling seats in San Antonio... Their fans aren't what they used to be... Most are fans because of the Duncan years and the socioeconomic makeup of that city has changed quite a bit... I think most of the fans are a bit like out fair weather fans rather than say, Denver or Utah's more faithful fans...

I really don't expect San Antonio to be a contender for the next decade, especially if Pop leaves.

I haven’t seen one video of Lonzo working on his game. Kind of feels like they don’t want anyone knowing that he changed his shot?

Vae Victus wrote:Assuming we sign PG13, whiff on Lebron, and whether or not we extend Randle (but definitely not for big money), i'd do a Deng + Zubac for Whiteside. Leaves us with 10ish mil in cap while holding onto Randle's 12.5m caphold. Ideally we sign a good player then match Randle offer sheet after it. Preferably a good backup PG/SF whichever spot we dont draft for

C - Whiteside, Randle, Bryant
PF- Randle, Kuzma
SF- Ingram
SG- PG13, Hart
PG- Lonzo

The team is balanced and no bad money other than potentially Whiteside if he flops. I personally dont think he'll flop that badly, i think a change of scenery will do him good. Also gives us salary ballast in case we want to make a big move for someone like Kawhi if things dont work out for him in 2019. We retain our youth and with development they can start competing when the Dubs start winding down due to age.

I mean, Deng to us is utterly worthless since we have the PF position all sewn up and he's unable to defend SF. Might as well roll the dice on Whiteside and hope the trade motivates him again. Whiteside in the middle is a legit defensive presence, something we've been missing since DHo.

GL with Whiteside and Randle in the jump shooting era. 0 spacing in the frontcourt.

I actually got hired out of high school to work for the basketball team. and Bought into Ownership.

I was trying to do skateboarding business with Lebron. was brought to him by his boys. Melo is a friend.

I Own Three companies. so I'm pretty successful and happy. I am not in Basketball business now but want to buy back into Ownership. and Own a team. but it's fun. just watching my Lakers now and rooting on the players.

AS for the Team. I said what I said on Paul George and He is definitely coming to the Lakers. but he was guaranteed to come to the Lakers and gave them his agreement to sign with them and commitment last season.

That was because Lebron said he is coming.

only real competition. for the Lakers is The Golden State Warriors with Lebron if they lose to Houston and move Draymond. He would look at a cool opportunity to play with his boys Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. and in California.

He's just trying to get to California. it's a political thing. Durant came here for the Tech and Lebron wants to get in on some of that to. but it's a lot about magic helping him with the business stuff and navigating that.

This Lebron to the Lakers is a power move in the NBA. he's going to get a lot. a little ownership after retirement he'll flip that into something else but it's a great deal.

Savannah is a very dominant woman and is not letting him go to Houston. Basketball circles Houston is great for players for specific reasons just ask Harden. and She was adamant about getting Lebron out of Miami so I can't see her allowing him to go to Houston.

She's cool with L.A. and they all like L.A. she's going to have an opportunity to pursue some of her celebrity interests. it's pretty cool. and his whole crew will be out here. They've been assured they will get the great organization treatment with the team allowing his folks to be around the team.

He's going to get a great deal. he wants his money and he will get it here. The Kobe Contract was really about him letting him know that he can get that when he signs here.

I'm all for it. dude getting 45 points in the playoffs this team is in the finals with him. What Lebron wants is what Boston has. and the Lakers offer that. young team full of guys that can play with him. him going to one team makes the players there better. Lonzo Ball Kyle Kuzma Paul George Brandon Ingram and a Thomas Bryant who a lot of folk haven't seen a lot of will be really good for Lebron stretch fuive.

as for Business what I know is NBA hypes this up. Lakers vs. Celtics back on. primetime matchups now Kyrie Irving Vs. Lebron James with the new faces of the Rivalry. kind of revamps the League.

Warriors are still the Warriors but bringing the Lakers back with Lebron is very appealing. but Lebron just wants to be in Cali. that's what this is really about.

So get your popcorn ready and enjoy Paul George and Lebron James to the Lakers.

God I want to believe you so badly. Lonzo-Ingram-PG-Lebron-Lopez... I think that team is right there with the Warriors, Cs (when healthy), and Rockets.

Assuming our young guys continue to develop.

I hope Dloading99 is right... If not, it will get ugly around here... I just want PG... Anything else is gravy after 5 years of rebuilding... Lakeshow Baby...

Same. Sign PG and re-sign Randle and I'll consider this offseason a success. Sign PG and Lebron, and this year surpasses the GP/Malone and Nash/Howard offseasons as the greatest Lakers' offseason in my lifetime.

To Lakers:
Andrew Wiggins

To Timberwolves:
Josh Hart
Luol Deng

They ought to thank us as well since they could then go out and get a S.G. (KCP) who fits the system. I want to see Walton work his magic and revitalise Wiggins into a solid S.G. again, also Wiggins next to a pass first P.G.

Ball-Wiggins-Ingram-Kuzma-Randle/Cousins

This is actually not an awful trade. However, i wouldnt do it until after 2019. Realistically, we have a 2 year window to add salary. If we strike out in both 2018 and 2019, I’d certainly take a chance on Wiggins.

Look at how much salary he's owed over the next five seasons. Taking him on under any circumstances would be insane.

Yeah that is too much to pay for the "potential" of a 5th year player. Sure, he might not have reached his ceiling yet, but his contract pays him like he has already reached quite a high one.

And that's how you pretty much F your chance of seriously contending. LeBron James, due solely to his age, is a calculated risk. Trading for Wiggins would be insane.

Interesting..... the Nash/Howard year was the one when I knew our run was done. One was done(beyond done) and the other was an idiot. Pure desperation IMHO.
