Klay kept them in early, Curry pulled them ahead by a good amount and KD finished it.

Was the MVP tonight?

Wow

I hate random stats out of context.

It doesn't factor in things like opponent's pressure, time pressure, game pressure, confidence, fatigue etc.

I mean there's a 1 in 11.5 million chance of getting attacked by a shark but if you live in the middle of the country and never go close to the coast and stay away from aquariums your whole life there's a 0% chance you'll be attacked. If you are a professional surfer like Mick Fanning your chances of being attacked by a shark increases significantly.

These kind of stats are meaningless to me.

Yep. Just a few years ago (2015) it was conventional wisdom that “jumpshooting teams don’t win championships.” Then Curry happened and everybody forgot that. It turns out there’s only one Steph Curry. If you don’t have the GOAT shooter on your team, you get tight in the playoffs, especially in Game 7s. It’s a real thing.

If Iggy was healthy this would've been over in 5.

FUN FACT: These Ws and Cavs now have more Finals meetings than the Bird Celtics and Showtime Lakers.

Not really because they were two STACKED teams full of HoFs, unlike Golden All-Stars vs Bron Solo. Now had Durant not joined the Warriors, and had Lebron not scared Kyrie away, Warriors vs Cavs would have been fun to watch.

You're at the 2nd stages of grief. But know this, the refs don't make you miss 27 consecutive threes.

Easy to go cold when momentum shifts. Ever played basketball?

Yes.

But Houston had clean looks too and you can't blame that on the refs.

No doubt. Hou was obviously abysmal after the game got taken away from them. But that should’ve never happened. Basketball is very fickle, once the tidal wave starts, it can overwhelm.

rockets were the better team, they showed the formula for how to beat GSW. really unfortunate with CP injury and the refs being terrible.

I agree that KD closed this game and without him they lose....and I think these playoffs showed that he's better than Curry.

But I wouldn't take him over Harden or Kawh.

Curry had more to do with digging em outta the hole though...

They won by 9 and KD hit about 6 bailout shots in the fourth quarter. For as well as Curry played in the 2nd half, KD was better.

Great season, Rockets. You are a championship-level team, even if it can't be officialized this year; you just had the misfortune of playing against the most stacked team of the modern era, compounded by CP3's infelicitous injury.

Props to Curry and Durant for spearheading the second-half comeback; by doing so, they've staved off what would have been an irrecoverable blow to their legacies. Their confidence crescendoed when it mattered the most, and they made me retract all words I made to the contrary earlier.

Still not looking forward to Warriors-Cavaliers Part IV, but I've already steeled myself for it for some time by knowing that the basketball gods would be disgracious as usual.

Congratulations in advance to the champions-to-be Warriors, FWIW.

great word

It's a perfectly cromulent word; you'll realize that if you embiggen your knowledge of English morphology. :P
