Thanks, man. This is our second child as well. Sleep is at a premium right now. That first couple months is absolutely brutal.

This team is dysfunctional at every level from ownership down to the dancing usher. George Blaha and Greg Kelser are the only two humans associated with this organization that bring any professionalism and talent to their position. I'm just waiting for the sexual assault claim from one of the Auto Motion dancers against one of them, just because nothing seems to go right for the Pistons anymore.
Take this post as a joke. My wife and I had a kid this weekend, and I've barely slept. My mind is barely lucid.

Gores took a couple of years with Dumars, didn't jump the gun and got rid of him, then made a bold hire at the time in SVG, Gores hasnt' cheaped out and has trusted his basketball people, unfortunately it didn't work out. Things could be a lot worse ownerwise, could be a cheapskate, could be a meddler neither of which I see in him, just the Pistons are at a tough point at this time, I'm not sure it's because their owner sucks.

Congrats! Maybe your child can become our new GM!

It's all but impossible to convince 1 top tier guy to come to detroit, let alone 3. Even if a smaller market team lucks into a star, you have to really hope that guy is loyal because he's going to have the chance to leave if he wants.

The Pistons have been one of the NBA's worst franchises over the past decade. They've been poorly managed, poorly coached, and poorly run by a foolish, meddlesome owner. Exactly why do you believe any star player should want to sign here? Would you want to sign with a perennially unsuccessful franchise if you had better options with much better organizations elsewhere?
Furthermore, the notion that it's all about star players ludicrously oversimplifies the reality of things. A superstar won't get you far purely of his own accord, as the example of DeMarcus Cousins in Sacramento (arguably the only worse-run organization than the Pistons) aptly demonstrated. You've got to construct a good roster, you've got to draft well, you've got to manage the cap well, and you've got to have a good coach. The Pistons have managed precisely zero of these over the past ten seasons.
