I would have MUCH rather traded for Rubio over adding Smart. IMO Smart is not much better than Payton...if any.

Both excellent bench players.....neither worth more than $8mil per. Each could be worth more...if we had the luxury of having elite scorers 2-5. But at this moment we can't afford to overpay to sign a guy who cannot shoot at the PG and pay him stater money with this roster.

If Lebron wants Houston - Gordon and Tucker for Daniels and a future second might get them the cap space

I don’t like Schroeder. Suns do need defense too. I am good with Smart at 10-12 and a shooter for the rest.

Though would like Looney for defense - if he would take 6m, that’s Sauce money.

Aminu for a future second would be awesome too

What madness is this: https://nypost.com/2018/05/28/nba-took-notice-of-what-michael-beasley-did-for-knicks. I can't believe we want to pay SuperCoolBeas again. Wasn't it McD who stretched him back in 2013? Hell, he might still be on the books :-D

Weird. Where did that news come from? If it's a one year deal, then fine. Just hope it doesn't impact any bigger moves. Not sure a Beasley signing would appease the fans too much either as the top free agent signing.

Typical NY rumors.

Easy way to sell the fans on bringing Beasley back. He is a Fizdale favorite, was in Miami with him in both of his tenures there. Makes him look better to fans, like "See, other teams want to steal him away from us, so he has to be good". Also preparing to help justify spending the full MLE to retain him, which in my eyes is too much.

If the Suns blow their FA load on Super Cool Beas....

Seems like an agent picking a couple of teams with cap space and throwing a rumor out there... well at least I hope it's that.

Beasley is a better fourbthan anyone we have right now. If you want to make a playoff run, signing him to a 1 year with option deal and bring Dragan off of the bench would not be bad. He is cheaper that Gordon.

As far as PG, draft Milton and roll with Knight. A healthy Knight is as good as anything we can get out there, especially when he is a fourth option. Push the ball, set up others, and spot up. Do what Elf did early on except with a better 3 ball.

Y’all can hate Knight all you want, but he is definitely a 4th option type guy if he buys in to the system.

If it’s true I think signing Beasley means they are trying to move TJ

With you on the Knight being a solid 4th option. Not sure about Beasley and having him mentor the young guys.

While it would be great if knight could give them something next year I don't see how the suns can count on it since he's literally been one of the worst players in the league his entire time in a suns uni.

He’s a lot older now. As far as I know he didn’t have any issues in New York last year. He seemed pretty effective.

Is that an indictment on Knight or our organization considering he was balling in Milwaukee?

Yeah the past two years he's seems to have morphed from a straight up idiot who you don't want around your team to now just a weird dude who teammate seem to like. Still a bit of a wild card from a chemistry standpoint.

My bigger issue with him is I'd rather have a good defender at the 4 paired with Ayton.

Honestly it's probably both. Although I would say it's entirely possible his half season of good play in Mil was an outlier. Prior to that year he really wasn't all that good. Not to make excuses for the guy but even before the ACL his time here was riddled with injuries and that probably factored in too.

I wonder if his role is changed, if he could become more valuable to us. If he's asked to strictly be a 3pt shooter (and rarely to never asked to take the ball up court), it could help. We need shooters and it would be silly not to use one we already have under contract.

I know sometimes we fans like to rip players, but there is no way in heck that a guy who averaged 20 pts, 5 ast, and 4 rebounds a game in the NBA on our team for a season is literally one of the worst players in the league. He isn’t even the worst on our team currently.

I hope he can bounce back and give everything he has to help us win games.

Not going to lie, I like this. Beasley quietly had a decent season last year. Not a bad add if its for 1 year.
