The Celtics had the balls to draft Jaylen Brown 4th overall when he was not projected to go high lottery. Then they turn around and trade the number 1 overall pick for Tatum, their leading point scorer in the playoffs and possibly the best pick in the draft. On top of that they got a SAC pick that could be top 3. And they were even smart in targetting Kyrie for trade (selling high on Crowder and IT), Hayward for FA and Horford for FA. That team will be EC Champs this year and/or next. Kyrie, Brown, Tatum and Horford will be joined by a possible top 3 pick coming off 2 consecutive possible trips to the Finals.

Smartest front office and best scouts in the NBA?

On the flipside, the Sixers could boast Simmons, Kawhi, Lebron and Embiid. It's going to be fun to watch them battle the Celtics these next few years.

There is almost 0% chance that trade offer included the Nets 2016 unprotected first round pick, which everyone knew would be a top 4 pick. I'm so tired of hearing that false narrative. It was most likely Boston's two first-round picks that year, 16, 29, plus a combination of those possible first round picks they had stockpiled some of which have protections which turn them into multiple 2nd round picks. At the very best it's possible that the 2018 nets unprotected first was involved, but I even doubt that.

yup. the fact that Detroit, an equally if not more so talent-starved team, passed on that package as well means that the package was not a "can't miss" package. It means it was just a bunch of late 1sts and #16 that year, at best.

Granted #16 ended up being Terry Rozier, and us and the Pistons ended up burning that #9 on Frank and Johnson respectively, but I have always been incredibly skeptical that anything close to a Brooklyn pick was ever on the table.

I originally hated MJ, didn't like all the hype and attitude, the star calls, but the more I watched him, the harder it was to hate him. he won me over with tough shots.

Lebron is starting to do the same to me. I swear he's getting better with age

Yeah, he's aging like fine wine. But if the Cavs manage to reach the final, I expect them to get destroyed by the Warriors or the Rockets.

I don't doubt the Cavs. Their roster is still new in terms of teams being together. Warriors and Rockets also went through harder path and should be more fatigued. I'd give them a 50-50 shot right now if they make it to the Finals.

This feels like a bad take because LeBron was very impressive, but that was a train wreck of a game. Terrible shooting, TOs all over the place, and didn't feel like the D was all that great. Just felt like a tired game where guys didn't have energy and LeBron just pushed through.

Cleveland is going to get dumped in the finals unless LeBron averages 40/12/12. which is possible.

If you give LeBron an actual top 10 player Instead of kevin love. He wins it all this year.

Like him or not, you have to respect what LeBron James is doing. Get him some help and watch what happens.

Interested in what happens tonight. Everybody is counting LeBron and the Cavs out during the finals. What if Houston wins tonight, and Chris Paul can't play in the finals because of his hamstring?

Easily one of the more amazing NBA related things I've read recently if true.
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/5/29/17406750/bryan-colangelo-philadelphia-76ers-twitter-joel-embiid-anonymous-markelle-fultz

The TL:DR is that Bryan Colangelo may have had 5 twitter accounts he used to post all sorts of crap, including non-public details of failed trades & rants against current / former 76ers players.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I guess it's time I come clean. Me, JDR, Yosemite, big slam, and diop are all the same person. I've been using burner accounts pretending to be 5 different mods. Busted.
