Nah you're good man, my point was only clear if you went into the link and read who were the guys they were working out

Fully agree with you though, if I'm a rookie looking for a good place to carve a career, the Clippers are near the top of my list right now.

WTF, Warriors?!

Post#602 » by Ranma » Mon May 28, 2018 7:16 pm

Looks like I prematurely gave Golden State too much credit. I mean who knows since I possibly fell for the smokescreen put out by Ball's camp, but was it really a smokescreen since the Warriors initially denied the rumor only to apparently follow through with a workout? I guess it could be another smokescreen or a reporter relaying old news, but Charania was Wojnarowski's disciple and usually is right on top of the situation with his reports.

If the Warriors want to waste their time, go right ahead, but the Clippers better not be following suit on such resource-wasting stupidity.

Plenty of room at the top in Clipperville. Still, I must admit that this list is less impressive than I expected.

Lol at MPJ falling to 15. Also this Shai & Robert Williams at 12, 13 is getting real old real fast. I hate Robert Williams as a prospect. Mocking him to us is just lazy journalism.

I'm not really stressing about the mock drafts. I don't think anyone has any idea who West wants in the draft, other than West himself.

They've got to save something for their next mock show.

Personally I'm surprised that Tony Carr was working out in Thousand Oaks, let alone that there's a decent basketball facility there. TO is close to where I grew up in Cali. I'm also happy that Carr is getting scouted and someone will take him in the 2nd round.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Dukies' Choice: Wendell Carter, Jr. > Marvin Bagley III

Post#617 » by Ranma » Sat Jun 2, 2018 11:04 am

It's interesting to note that, during a recent podcast, Ryen Russillo passed on a tidbit he heard from the combine that when asked by NBA team(s) which teammate they would select 1st overall in the upcoming draft, Duke prospects chose Wendell Carter, Jr. over Marvin Bagley III. It's unclear whether it was a unanimous vote, but it was supposedly a tough decision for them.
[approximate time stamp - 42:21]

Adrian Wojnarowski also joined the podcast and mentioned that he thinks the Clippers would love to move up in this draft, but goes on to also state that the top 3 picks aren't usually available for trade with maybe the 4th through 6th overall selections possibly in play. Furthermore, Woj doesn't think both of the Clips' lottery picks will be enough to move far up the draft board and maintains that the team would be better off using the selections on 2 prospects rather than trading them away for a nominal jump up for a single selection, especially since the team is devoid of young talent capable of being rotational players due to the incompetence of the Doc regime.

I swear I'm going to get so excited to draft Lonnie Walker just for him to either a) go right before us, or b) us completely pass on him

gosh this draft is so weird for me.

i feel like there are 3+ players i would LOVE to grab. SGA is my #1 choice in our range. but then you'd love to take a flier on walker. then on smith. or troy brown, or knox. then you kinda need williams for dj insurance. and what do you do if sexton's available?

sure would be nice to move someone in the backcourt for an extra pick and some rotation clarity.
