What people never seem to understand is that there are always dozens of fresh young prospects coming into college, and they have the advantage of both youth and mystery. Huerter is young for a sophomore, but if he goes back then he's basically just another old dude coming out. When you are older you have to do a lot more to impress to maintain the same draft position. It just puts so much more pressure, and it's needless pressure, if you are already going to be a first round pick. I just don't think these kids are getting good advice.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

He's either got a guarantee from SA or he's pulling out imo.

Please expand - has he withdrawn from workouts or something?

he seems to have worked out for a lot of teams, he's worked out for my lakers, I would take him with the 25thpick if Donte is gone by then.

Definitely I agree he should come out, there's no chance he's not a 1st rounder.

apologies just speculation given he pulled out of his workout with Utah . He is expected to take it down to the wire wed.
SA has apparently got a lot of interest in him at 18.

He’s staying in the Draft. Just got reliable info.

Wouldn't be shocked if he returns but would not be the smart choice given he could end up on an org like SA this draft

Man, as a MD grad, losing Heurter hurts my soul, but I'm happy for him - likely getting a first round guarantee. He did it the right way - as opposed to the way Justin Jackson handled it - hiring an agent before-hand and having no guarantee that he'll even get drafted. Jeebus this stings. Huerter has absurd shooting range - literally out to 30 feet, but he needs to get a lot stronger for the NBA. Personally, if I'm drafting a pure shooter, I'm picking Donte Di over him, because Donte is physically tougher, better off the dribble, and a better all-around player - even though Huerter's 2 inches taller and a little better shooter.

I don't think Huerter is "a little better shooter" than Donte. I think he's potentially a generational shooter. If he raises his release just a little bit, perfect form. I'm not sure I trust Donte to be an above-average shooter for his position in the NBA.

I see him as a slightly lower version than Nik Stauskas as a prospect. Lets see if he can pan out though unlike Stauskas.

Does anyone else think the Klay Thompson comp is reasonable?

I think he could live up to a Kyle Korver comp. Yeah, he has some higher-tier potential like Klay Thompson or Ray Allen, but that's too much to expect right now.

He's bigger and more athletic than Stauskas, imo. Looks like a better shooter too.

He reminds me of Kyle Korver, the way he knows how to move around the three point line and shoot quickly. And those quick touch-passes are very Korver-like.

Klay was a bit bigger and a more versatile and skilled scorer coming out but similarly underrated athletes at least from a general movement, agility standpoint. Huerter might be a slightly better leaper off both one and two feet but neither stand out here.

As far as the Stauskas comp, Huerter is more well rounded, bigger and a better overall athlete. Younger for his class too. Stauskas was older but clearly the better ballhandler coming out.

I think the buzz around Huerter is a bit strong right now but if he can tighten up his dribble and decision making vs pressure and continue to fill out his fame, I think he has a good a chance as any kid likely taken outside the lottery to become an above average starter.
