Dennis Smith Jr.
15 ppg 5 assissts and 3.8 rebounds a game

Frank
6ppg 3 assists 2 rebounds a game

Numbers don't lie.

Going by your logic...

Based on rookie numbers Michael Carter Williams was the best player from his draft class. I'm sure Portland and Milwaukee wish they had him over McCollum and Giannis. Rookie numbers don't lie.

You'd be crazy yo want him over Dennis Smith Jr before the draft and a year later he hasn't shown anything to change that.
Put up or shut up let's make a sig bet I say he's out of the league in 5 years.

You're taking this a bit too serious

I was just trying to point out that not everything is known seeing as to how it was their rookie years.

Players like DSJr don't win. Look at players like Westbrook, Iverson, etc who are dominate guards, they aren't winning guards, especally when they don't play defense. Unless you have players like LeBron James on your team. I'd rather have a team first, defensive guy.

Their offensive numbers are much closer when you look at / 36, and there's no doubt that Dennis Smith Jr was more NBA ready going into last year then Frank was. Frank did have a much better year defensively than Smith did. I seem to remember a quote right after he got drafted where he said something to the effect that now I'm going to have to learn how to play defense. I don't think he has all the concepts down yet.

Making a bet about what will happen 5 years from now is a joke. I'll make you a Sig bet the Franks / 36 numbers this coming season will be as good as Smith's, or better.

why would Frank need a per 36..whats stopping him from actually playing 36+ minutes next season ?

It was. At JUST 19 years old, he set a lot of records for the Knicks & League for Defensive stats given his age. IIRC too, he was ranked VERY high among ALL Players in the League for some Defensive Stats (not just Rookies).

What I typed above is as short sighted and dumb as what you typed tbh. Both guys are young and will probably improve. DSJ was bad last year but Frank was so much worse.

Because it's unfair to compare two players when one of them plays a lot more minutes than the other. I think Frank's minutes this year will probably be close to 30 this coming season, but what if Smith ends up playing an average of only 20? That would be as unfair as the opposite. Using per 36 allows you to more fairly compared to players
