Never really viewed him as selfish or lazy on defense, those two were a surprise to me, but your comparison to bledsoe' as far as overall impact is probably spot-on.

My opinion is mainly based on how Celtics fans feel about him.

This isn't a rumor or anything but a piece by a Heat writer with trade ideas. If this actually became an option, would you make this deal? I would need to see how Free Agency played out. I'd rather be paying someone like Kemba but this scenario would mean it'd be cheap to get him. Could be a sign of how Heat fans value him.

2. Trade Goran Dragic back to the Phoenix Suns for a second-round pick. In June's NBA Draft, the Suns already have the first-overall selection and the 16th selection, which they received from the Heat in the 2015 deal that sent Goran Dragic to Miami. Phoenix also owns the first pick of the second round (No. 31) and the 59th pick. The Suns will likely take Dragic's international team teammate and Euroleague MVP Luka Doncic with the first selection, making Dragic an excellent fit to mentor the 18-year-old phenom as he acclimates himself to the NBA.

For the Heat, getting back what amounts to a late first-round pick would lessen the blow of losing this year's pick to the Suns for Dragic. He no longer makes sense for the Heat. He's an aging point guard on a team that has no avenue to compete without a massive overhaul of its roster. Two more years of leading the Heat to middle-of-the-pack seasons does no one any good. The time for change is now.

Acquiring a young player who could be a rotation player for the Heat when the team is ready to compete seriously makes sense for Miami. Getting Dragic back to mentor Doncic and still being owed another future first-round pick from the Heat in the deal is highway robbery for the Suns. It's a win-win.

A 2nd for Dragic is a done deal for me, regardless of the Ayton/Doncic debate. He instantly solves the PG problem.

It definitely makes the Heat much worse. I don't see them signing any marquee players.

I can’t imagine Riley going for that. 2nd rd pick....Miami should be able to get at least a late 1st for him from some team.

Not a chance in this draft. Teams aren't giving away picks. The Warriors will be paying a huge premium.

Raptors fans have been begging for Vince Carter to return to Toronto for many years now. Allen Iverson also had a ton of fans wishing him to return to the 76ers back when he was getting bounced around between Denver, Detroit and Memphis.

Its so odd how much hood struggled this year. I wonder if its an offcourt or unreported injury issue. Good thing igor should have a good idea of his makeup.

I'm kind of torn on favors because while i like him as a player I'm just not sure blowing all their FA money on a traditional type 4 to play next to Ayton is wise. If they shock the world and take luka then I love him as a target to play the 5.

A second for Goran would be great but the Suns really do not have cap space before the draft. Maybe Williams Daniels Ulis plus the 5m they are under would get close pre 7/1.But this would mean the suns probably do not have much room for anybody else.

Edit: just did espn trade machine and it would take Dudley and Williams for Dragic on draft night to get the second. This trade would save the Heat 26m over two years as Williams could be waived and Dudley is owed 9.5m. I would do this deal in a nano second . If they wanted to add Chandler for James Johnson I would think about that too but prefer Olynyk . Both have three years left. Johnson and Olynyk

Post 7/1, Suns have different cap space options

The #31 pick is essentially a late 1st but with more contractual flexibility. There's obviously some talent that will be taken before then but the talent drop off between say 25 and 35 is pretty small because at that range, it's a complete crapshoot and players get taken earlier and later than expected all the time. It is ultimately a salary dump that they are looking for and they want the max return possible. Teams generally don't give up much, if anything at all of note to help another team dump salary and it's especially true in this case. They may not even be a guaranteed playoff bound team that will go into the LT next season.

Suns in: Nikola Vucevic, Terrance Ross and Shelvin Mack.

Magic in: 16th pick, Jarred Dudley and Brandon Knight.

The suns do this to get good solid vets in vooch and Ross to help push for the playoffs next year. Plus if they don’t work out you can trade them at the deadline or let them expire for cap space. Mack’s contract is only guaranteed for 1 million dollars next year so you can cut him if you don’t want him and save 5mil. You get productive proven vets who can help your young team grow.

The magic do this to try and get another young prospect to go with the 6th pick. They eat 2 of the suns bad contracts but they expire around the time they might start being competitive again.
