You might get away with a lineup like that in the east but no way they come out of the west even with LeBron.

The team needs to show improvement and be an rising young team to attract semi young stars.

Veterans want to join winning teams already...they don't want to take risk being on a bottom 10 team.

Young players with potential would definitely consider Suns due to opportunity and to grow as a core with the Suns current youth.

Big market teams do matter for sure... But these days you can still be popular due to social media and you can always live in New York or LA during the other 6 months of the year... You're rich you can have ten houses around the country if you wanted to.

But yeah... Like 76ers... They had to show that they are on the rise and serious about winning to attract Veteran stars.

It's on my list of cities to move to, I visited twice in the last year and it 'seemed' like paradise, and had more pro's then cons

I'd be curious of a poll if people could pick any city on a map where to live (this board can be basketball cities), where would you live and why? (based on economy, culture, real estate market, expenses, weather, activities, etc)

NYC / LA is too expensive and the taxes are insane
Miami is a good fit but is very humid, it rains and is very touristy
Houston / Dallas seem like good cities (I'm visiting Houston for the first time in a few weeks)
I really loved the terrain and hiking of Phoenix, and the dry heat. Also people seemed so nice

People talk about the heat in Phoenix but the fact that it is a dry heat is very underrated. The heat feels pretty nice...especially if you head out to the pool. Places where it is hot and humid are SO much more miserable to me. Even Austin, which is a nice place to live, has been kind of miserable with the heat lately, and it's not really even THAT humid when compared to like Houston or New Orleans or Miami.

Phoenix is a nice place to live, especially for cost of living and if you don't mind the heat and like to hike, though you could say it lacks culture in relation to older cities. I've lived in several NBA cities. I think Denver may be one the most underrated place to live.

Phoenix is a destination city and not just for bball. People here don't know what they are talking about:

1. Great weather besides summer heat.
2. Top Notch resorts (best on the west coast besides Cali)
3. Beautiful Woman
4. Scottsdale Night Life
5. Phoenix Waste Management open
6. We get the super bowl every 6-8 years and the BCS bowl regularly
7. Great Hiking
8. 4 hour drive to Vegas
9. Cool Bar scene in PHX/Arcadia
10. Spring training Baseball
11. Awesome Culinary scene

Remember, the Suns were in a much worse position a few years ago and nearly convinced Aldridge to play for Phoenix instead of his hometown Spurs. It took a last minute 2nd meeting with Pops to change his mind.
And the year LeBron went back to Cleveland, Phoenix was one of 2 or 3 (Cavs & Miami) teams his agent spoke to.

A lot of good things are starting to happen in the valley. I don't expect big name FA's to come running to play for the Suns just yet, but we're a year or 2 away from being a serious option.

And for those ripping the city, please be polite in your responses. Give your honest takes without mocking a city you think you know a lot about. Every city can be broken down in a negative light for why a player shouldn't want to go there. Just stay on topic please.

It has less to do with the city and more to do with winning 21 games.

Isiah Thomas to get the max in Phoenix? There OP, are you happy now?

Phoenix is a good city though. They aren't being talked about because they're a bad team. After they turn it around, players will want to go there.

Depends on what you're looking for. I can't see NBA players hanging out in Old Town but that's just me. Nonetheless, PHX is certainly in the top 1/2, maybe even top 1/3rd of NBA cities.

Pretty sure that's in New Mexico

Its in Arizona or rather on the border of it but still somewhat far from NM.

It was a joke :) I've actually hiked 10 miles of it. In jeans and sneakers. Going up a Canyon in jeans... man that thing is a lot steeper than you think

I should’ve said it the other way around, Suns burnt it with him.

Yes, I haven't lived there for awhile, but Phx didn't have much have a nightlife...you go to Scottsdale or if in college, Tempe. I would have friends come over from LA and they thought the Scottsdale nightclub scene was better than LA. This was a while back though...but it was expanding rapidly to northern Scottsdale at the time.

I saw Nash in old town once...talked to him. Countless others have been seen around there. I also saw some pro athletes in the north scottsdale club scene too....it's more upscale.

The Suns got Barkley, KJ,Amare, Marion and Kidd via trades.

Nash was the only major FA signing and he was undervalued at the time at that and many thought his best years were already behind him.

Mill Avenue in Tempe (ASU) is the spot.
