So right he lied or woj got a bad source.

Obviously Pax was just lowering expectations. Because we probably will not be able to sign any one of consequence. But we will absolutely positively definitely and wisely contact the top free agents to see if by chance they might have interest in meeting with us.

We have $41M of max possible cap space, if we go scorched earth.

It's not like we would be letting go of anyone good or valuable. We could probably dump a number of other guys also and create a little bit more room but I heavily doubt We will do that because I don't think we'll be successful. But it is a possibility. I wonder if we could maybe maneuver enough room to sign two real guys. Not necessarily two Max guys but two big contracts. Maybe one of which would be a Max. Maybe we will get fortunate because so few teams have cap space.

100% this.

Woj is top notch for breaking news, but his speculating opinions have been a mixed bag.

I'd gamble on Cousins with a 1 or 2 year deal.

Bulls overestimating the talent they currently have and think the rebuild should be sped up. That's not good.

Plus, even if we were a desirable locale, I see basically no exciting free agent options. Even the RFA field is kind of crummy.

They aren't overestimating anything, you're just making assumptions to suit your biased agenda.

If the Bulls planned to be active, they wouldn’t have accepted Asik’s contract.

The Bulls have cap space. They can have a lot of cap space easily if they want. They will attempt to sign high quality free agents. I've never understood the notion of planning versus not planning to sign a free agent. You just try for awesome things and if they happen it's great. It's really that simple.

Or we’re going to be sneaky in the “take on some money so other teams have more cap space” sense.

Maybe the Lakers - Hey we’ll take on your Deng money for Ingram.

That type of sneaky?

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Im willing to max Capela and draft a wing at #7 and 22. Capela is a great fit with Lauri, is super young and can stay on the floor and help you beat the Cavs, Warriors and Rockets.

His reasoning is that the chemistry between he and Curry has been a bit wonkier than what most people believe. Also said that Durant still really hasn’t accomplished what he truly set out to accomplish, which was to shake the bridesmaid stigma. Said that after a couple of rings, he might decide that he wants to improve his legacy by going to a large market and building a legacy as the undisputed alpha for a storied franchise. Mentioned LAL specifically but my thought is that Chicago could just as easily fit the bill and is in a much more generous East.

Well, shoo that would be a surprising turn of events.

 you can't be serious

Capela looks great playing with 2 elite playmakers in harden and cp3. I'm not spending 25 million on a rim runner with no jump shot, can't shoot ft's and no post moves.

There's no one of real interest in free agency though. Hezonja if cheap, maybe. I think he might be a better player than what we have seen so far.

Why? A 270 lb giant coming off an achilles injury... not even mentioning he's never helped a team in the NBA win anything. The Pelicans got better, much better, when he got hurt. The Kings were always bottom of the barrel bad no matter who they surrounded him with. He seems to be unstable mentally. I wouldn't want him even without the achilles... but with the achilles. Hell no. NO

I actually think Durant should come here-not as a Bulls fan, but for him and his rep.

1-got his 2 rings, and no credit
2-made a ton of $ and his name is bigger than ever
3-AWESOME market and franchise for him
4-LBJ goes to Houston, and all of a sudden the East looks more open
5-great fit in our lineup
6-he would be a HERO if we got to the ECF, and easily would be the frontrunner for next year's MVP

Dunn/Payne
Lavine/Holiday/Valentine
Durant/Nwaba/Valentine
Lauri/Portis
Rolo/Carter

Plus the #22, or we move up to get Bamba. That team would win 50+ games and Durant would shine

Return to Chicago Bulls
