Still possible to reach it with him
A) Deal Lopez
or
B) Stretch Omer & renounce Nwaba / use #22 as a stash away pick
Doubt you can deal Lopez into cap space. Stretching Omer is an interesting idea though, I hadn't considered that one.

bad knees wrote:The problem with stretching Omer now is that I believe you’d have to stretch the entire value of his last two years over the next five years. Better to wait one more year and then stretch his $3 M guaranteed salary for 2019-2020 over three years.

Bulls overestimating the talent they currently have and think the rebuild should be sped up. That's not good.
Plus, even if we were a desirable locale, I see basically no exciting free agent options. Even the RFA field is kind of crummy.
They aren't overestimating anything, you're just making assumptions to suit your biased agenda.

To me, we have to position ourselves for the possibility of a Kawhi/ Lebron pairing, in 2 ways.
1) Let's say the meeting with Pop doesn't go well. I would trade Lauri, LaVine, the #7 and #22 for Kawhi, IF Lebron is willing to come over now.
2) We hold the fort for this year, don't overspend on LaVine, and take our capspace into 2019 with a young core of Lauri, LaVine, Dunn, and the #7 pick.
The reality is that Lebron is going to sign 1 -year deals for the rest of his career and we have to be ready for him.

I know, right?
Welcome to 2018 communication, dialogue, and narrative chaos.
