Why not a trade for Dragic, if all Miami want is a 2nd rounder. He could run Igor's offense and make this potentially one of the best liked squad's in team history.

Judging from the reactions of Rachel Nichols and Ramona Shelbourne it was likely something they had told him in confidence. I doubt Houston brings him back in that scenario which would seem to make CP3's negotiating position a little stronger. I can't see him getting more than four years regardless.

Pretty sure every prospect in NBA history has said this. I bet he also said something like “I’m a player that will do whatever to win whether it’s defend, rebound or score or whatever the team needs. Etc”. See I can be an NBA player too
What's your point? He said he will play whatever position we put him at, McDonough has been clear about him being a center, he's going to play center. Who cares what he said in a year old interview.

Except why draft Ayton and max Capella ... unless it's Doncic and Capella.
Ayton reportedly sees himself more as a 4 and prefers playing the 4 so could make sense from that aspect.

Pg- just need a guy who can play d
Sg- elite scorer -booker
Sf- defensive stud (Jackson)
Pf- rebounder guy who can take advantage of the current small pf's
C- defense , rebound,
I think that could be a formula to win

I think with Ayton we want a 4 who can shoot...we want as many floor spreaders as possible. Plus with Jackson being a poor FT shooter we shouldn't get a 4 who is bad at that. Ayton can handle the rebounds but you don't want the interior to be too crowded with defenders with another big who can't shoot from 3. I think Ayton will be able to shoot from 3 but he will do a lot of damage at the rim and will face enough double teams as it is without having an extra defender nearby when he operates inside.

Quite frankly I would like to stick with Chriss and Bender at the 4 for next year. I think one or both of them is going to break out.
My only concern is a legit playmaker. That has been our biggest problem for a very long time.

I'd only do it if Miami took back Knight as well. I would give them our 2nd then which is almost like a late 1st.

Why is that exactly? Look, truthfully we don't quite know what we have with most the youngsters due to the lack of system/dev the past couple seasons. I know we will try to win more next season, but that should occur just with a better coach and our guys getting older. I think the ultimate upside move is to hope Knight stops sucking enough to become tradeable.
Truth is the only FA PG I have interest in is Exum, who Igor knows well. I can get behind that. The vet PGs are trade targets but they need to come super cheap to be worthwhile imo. Dragic and Kemba are the obvious 2, but I can't see Charlotte trading Kemba quite yet. Again, they need to come cheap. Dragic is a good fit but he needs to be okay being the 3rd wheel offensively and he needs to also come cheap. I have 0 interest whatsoever in trading 16, Bucks, or Miami's 2021 to get him back given his salary and age. I could also get behind a trade for one of Brooklyn's PGs if they would do it, but I imagine Russell in particular is going to cost a lot. Still, Russell would be a damn good fit for this team and I might be okay paying a lot for him.
Next offseason there are a ton of potential PGs and potential SGs (if we go point Booker), that are fits. We should remain patient.
