How Much Do You Appreciate KD Now on the Warriors

Post#1 » by clips4ever » Fri Jun 8, 2018 11:33 am

KD has just truly had one of the best playoff games offensively I've seen recently in Game 3 but personally, it's almost as if all his achievements have an asterisk due to him joining the Warriors. Pretty much peaked in last year's finals but nobody really appreciates it that much because he joined a 73-9 team. Anyone else feel like this? Or do people still appreciate how good he is regardless of him joining the Warriors?

I'm realistic enough to accept that if we still had Harrison Barnes, we are not likely to be winning a third championship. We may not of even won last year.

So yes, I appreciate him and what he brings to my team immensely.

In my eyes KD will soon have 2 championships but at the same time 0 championships

He and Steph are props for one another.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Championships are championships when you play at a MVP tier.

Why do you say this? GSW dominated with Barnes (without KD). I don't see any reason to believe they still wouldn't be a top team assuming the same core was still intact.

Barnes shot 16% in the last 3 games in the 2016 final.

A few reasons

1) Barnes would've got a long-term contract, not a one year like Durant, which is the reason last off-season we were able to keep the squad we have.

2) I doubt we go 16-1 last year in playoffs, not to mention the Rocket series this year. KD brings so much that Curry/Klay went for 25pts combined in game 3 the other day and we still won. Close games like Game 1 of this years Finals? Easy to see that being a loss if you trade those players.

This isn't about us being a top-team; we'd still be a contender, but we wouldn't be the overwhelming favorite in the West like the Cavs are in the East, where if either team doesn't make the Finals it's a disappointment.

I very much appreciate this run of being a legendary team. It doesn't happen often, and even rarer for it to be the team your a fan of. I'm loving every minute. I still remember the utter shock and surprise when I heard KD was signing.

I don't agree. Barnes would definitely not have gotten a contract extension. He turned down 16 million a year, and no one was going to pay him 20m+ after arguably the worst finals performance of all time. This would have caused instant locker room cancer the second he would sign it.

I don't like him or what he did, but I was awestruck by that G3 performance. However one feels about him, his greatness as a baller can't be denied.

There's nothing to agree with except the facts. The fact is Harrison Barnes did a $93mil contract, and is currently getting paid over $23mil a season. I don't know if this is news to you, but it's pretty funny to me either way.

And the amount doesn't have anything to do with what I said. Just the fact that he would have had a multi-year contract instead of a one-year with a player option like Durant did would have changed all of our 2017 off-season signings and plans.

Or are you saying that we would have let him walk and just sign some mystery third player instead of either?

I appreciate that KD joined the best team and they are still the best team. It would have been more interesting to see him develop that thunder team into a championship team of it's own instead of hitching onto an already established dominant team but what can you do.

to me he is and always will be the biggest pansy baby back biotch in the history if team sports. he can win 10 rings in a row and 10 finals MVP and i will still give him credit for nothing other then being a coward pussy.

GSW does not win last year with out him. I hope KD stays on the warriors for a long time because its only fair to counter super teams with your own super team. He had the best game of the finals
imo so far.

I believe they let him walk because he would have gotten way overpaid by the Mavs, as he did.

I guess you haven't been watching LeBron during these playoffs.

And it's hard to appreciate Durant when he's playing on a team where he has to get single covered and he wrecked what would have been an epic rivalry by joining the side that already had the most talent in the league.

What was so surprising?

He is an MVP caliber player and arguably one of the greatest scorers and isolation players in the history of the game. With his height and skill level he is nearly unstoppable.

The problem is he decided to join the best team in the league with another MVP player and two other all-stars so it defenses can't load up on him and take away his game.

I really don't get what is so impressive...KD should be capable of doing this every night with the amount of attention Steph and Klay draw from defenses.

KD is such a generational talent that it's a shame he had to join the core of an already established championship team and the GOAT regular season team. Let alone joining the team that beat you when you had a 3-1 lead.
