I've been a big critic of KD's awareness and tunnel vision issues. But he has really changed his game around in just a matter of a few games. Very impressive stuff and if he keeps playing like this and avoids falling back to bad habits, I can't see anyone beating the Dubs for years to come.

I am extremely proud of him as well. After approximately 175 games, he finally realized he's got the two greatest 3-point shooters in NBA history on his team.

My vote(if I had one) would be James Harden followed closely be LeBron and KD
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

Touché. What I meant was superstars often get in their own way and are unwilling to adjust. KD being able to do that says something about himself. If he played like this in the Houston series, Dubs would’ve won fairly easily imo.

1. James Harden
2. LeBron James
3. Kevin Durant
4. Anthony Davis
5. Greek Freak
6/7: Curry/Paul (too many games
8. Oladipo
Probably re-think it before the vote.

Going to be hard to rank Durant here. He coasted most of the season, but he was insanely good in games 2-4 in the Finals, perfect basketball. Think he was better and an even clearer FMVP than last year. Could see a case for him as high as #2 (behind Lebron of course). but also as low as #5. Depends on how high a valuation is given to the two biggest series of the season compared to the other ~100 matches.

Re: '17-'18 POY discussion
Being good in the finals means nothing. That was a bad EC champ, playing a team with significantly more talent let's move on.
1 James Harden
2 Lebron James
3 Anthony Davis
4 Giannis
5 Rudy Gobert
anything above 5 for KD is a absolute joke. He missed games, almost cost his team the WCF, and the team looked way worse in the regular season without Curry. Judging him based on 3 good games against one of the leagues worst defenses is a hottake. He almost cost his team game 1 of the finals as well.

Wheres that Steph fan that kept posting Stephs on/off numbers in the playoffs?
Kd was leading the team before tonight with +8.2 and was game high +30 today in a 23pt win

Re: '17-'18 POY discussion
Durant makes my top 5. Firmly believe now more than ever, that GS's improved PS offense the last 2 years is primarily because of him. That's not to say he's their MVP (still think that's Curry), but KD is what makes them impossible to defend, and I don't think Oladipo guarantees that same thing in his position, while I think Durant could do similar things to Oladipo in Indiana.
1. LeBron
2. Harden
3. Davis
4. Giannis
5. Durant

Using the games they played without Steph the 2nd time he got hurt is disingenuous at best. They were locked to the 2 seed, couldnt get past Houston and couldnt drop. They had no incentive and were clearly packing it in for the playoffs
we saw them go 5-1 in actually serious basketball games playing great O and D
Rudy Gobert over Kevin Durant is just

Lol what? You mean he won it for them, right? Game 1 in Houston was won almost exclusively on the strength of KD's isolations, and with Curry locked down for a big portion of the series KD was the only consistent performer and scorer for GSW.

KD making lists after choking in the WCF based on 3 finals games against the leagues 29th ranked defense who's previous best test was Victor Oladipo is
Rudy isn't a better player than KD but he had an undeniably more impactful regular season and although the whole team got exposed against the Rockets, he's the only reason hey were there in the first place.

Re: '17-'18 POY discussion
lebron's injury appears to be self inflicted
does this affect anyone's evaluation of him? I've seen some people dock 85 Bird for his injury/bar fight, same thing apply here?

Kevin Durant is ridiculously good at the game of basketball and he had a ridiculously good season.
Let's not complicate things.
