His legacy is fine everywhere except for in his own mind. Even with all the success going to GS brought him, he's always going to feel like he took the easy way out in the back of his mind. You aren't going to convince me that this isn't in the back of his mind. He's shown that he deeply cares about what people think. He knows what he did. So on the surface his legacy is easily Hall of Famer, but that will always be there for the rest of his life.

That is their tragedy to me. They are undoubtedly the GOAT team, but there's an artificiality to how they achieved that status - adding top 3 player to a 73-9 roster - that will always preclude them for ever being a 'celebrated' team or even a team that will get properly placed in history. They are so much better than everybody else that their accomplishments simply feel hollow. GS' celebrations itself the last 2 seasons says it all. No genuine emotion or authenticity to it. It's all so meh. Because it's all so easy. There's zero doubt in my mind they would gladly trade these last 2 rings for one in 2016. Now that would've actually meant something. And nothing will change next season when they cruise to 3 in a row. The world will still react to it with a 'meh'.

Which is why I've always said nobody won with KD's move. GS didn't. KD most certainly didn't - 0 legacy boost, 0 respect gained and he remains the poster child for anti-competitiveness. Did anybody else on GS get any boost from the last 2 seasons? I certainly can't see one. And it's so sad. A team and it's stars' legacy is so tied to them winning it all. We can't wait to discuss how winning a championship impacts their place in history. With this team, there's nothing to discuss. Nothing to talk about. It's ho-hum, the most talented 2-way team ever won it all again, now let's all go to sleep.

And they still needed the refs to bail them out.
Usually after 2-3 championships you start to respect the teams you dislike. There is no respect here. They get more hatable.
Refs ruined this series in a 2006 level. In 2007 a ref went to jail. Stay tuned.
Insinuating the refs would ever make calls AGAINST Lebron is so funny to me. Thats the NBA's baby. So you must be delusional. Coming from a diehard Warriors hater.

If he slept fine with just his rings and money he wouldn't need to create burner accounts defending himself.

LOL you know there are people who actually like banter and talking ish to people online. Look at the people on realgm. He could just like trolling.

No one cares. What's Garnett's legacy compared to Duncan?
Durant will be lucky if he's considered Garnett to Lebron's Duncan.

Win his third ring and FMVP with the Warriors, sign in 2019 with the then newly formed eastern powerhouse of the Knicks and bring a championship to New York.

Sounds pretty doable for him.

You're going to have to come to terms with the fact that KD is now a 2x Champion and back-to-back Finals MVP.

You may not like it, but history will remember him fondly...especially after they 3peat next year.

This isn't limited to fans on some basketball forum however, this extends to the media and former players themselves (most of them have been scathing about him ever since leaving).

Is their something that Durant could do that would save his legacy and maybe not go down as being perceived as the weakest superstar mentally and one of the biggest villains and most hated superstars in the game's history.

He’s now a two time champion and two time finals MVP.

I think at some point he will return to OKC and bring them an NBA title. Just recruit 2 of the best players in the world to come join him at OKC just like Lebron did with Wade and Bosh when he won titles in Miami.

I should clarify, save his legacy to the point where he is in the conversation for being one of the top 10 greatest. Obviously his legacy as a great player is fine, but i'm talking about as a major player of all time.

You must've won a lot of money betting your life-roll on the houston series. I congratulate you for your foresight and wisdom, good sir.

Didn’t watch the finals and I hope a lot of people didn’t, it would be the best thing for the league to have the finals with low viewership. Steph Curry has no legacy, it went away when KD signed.

So disappointing... don’t even want to talk about it. Didn’t even watch the Finals. So bad man...

EDIT: Well I watched the end of Game 1  and checked the scores. This is a L for the youth, men, and... everybody yeah. Sports is supposed to be an escape sometimes from day to day life and something to get into. How do you get into this? Lol

Keep beating Lebron’s team in the finals. I’ll root for him every time.
