Re: Almost off-season discussion! Trades/Free Agency Ep. 9
I'm even more amazed that people would turn down the idea of landing LeBron if he became available.
You can be sure that part of the meeting we would have with him would include McD explaining how he has the pieces to land Leonard too.
Be real, we know the chances are slim to none, but also admit, you would be insanely excited if a real rumor popped up that James will have a meeting with us. If you don't want LeBron, then you simply can't be appeased. The league isn't waiting for the Suns to grow and become elite. There's a real chance we never see a title in our lifetimes. If we can get LeBron, we do it and be happy about it.
As for Rich Paul, I highly doubt James would blame the Suns for dealing EB. He is smart enough to know Bledsoe isn't max worthy and acted like a child.

You sure? We're talking about LeBron James, who forced players like Smith and Thompson to be signed and overpaid. He engineered a team so bad that even with his own ridiculously immense and impressive efforts they still can't win.
Anyway no point analyzing it much, he isn't coming here and the Suns should not be wasting time pursuing him.

This right here is his biggest Achilles heel and one reason that keeps him from the greatness he desires. The guy has been great on the floor, but his overall greatness and winning has been held back by owners acquiescing to his ego for signing bad players to deals that are too big. That is what has hamstrung him in CLE. In MIA Riley did the driving for the most part and the issue was minimized. That's one reason why winning rings is still a very important way of measuring greatness. Other greats have Achilles heels too, of course.

Tyson Chandler, Jared Dudley to the Rockets for: Ryan Anderson, Nene.
Suns get a starting caliber stretch 4 in Anderson. Rockets do this deal as a salary dump to land LeBron.

I don't think he gets moved but Ainge is a savage. IT became a near MVP candidate ,played through injury and through his sister's passing for them and Ainge doesn't even think twice about moving him for Kyrie.

Ainge definitely would trade Hayward if the right deal presented itself but who is trading significant value for him? It’s took Paul George about 18 months to return to form after breaking his leg and his happened in July (Hayward in October).

All I'm saying is, Ainge would trade everyone on this roster if it meant moving a step closer to the championship. He's already done it once. But like I said, I don't think Hayward gets moved.

I agree with FoReal. No way they trade him. That would be awful. This is his college coach who he wrote a long tribute to saying how much he love Utah but he also loved playing for coach Stevens at Butler and he was the first to recruit him and teach him. There is no way Ainge would do that to Stevens and Hayward. Stevens would be pissed. They would trade Brown before him.

He's about winning but trades are not guaranteed...I am not even sure what trade we are talking about...I just saw it posted. No way Ainge trades a guy Stevens recruited and has a deep player/coach relationship with after courting the free agent last summer. Maybe in a few years...not now..not that he has any trade value. Just the thought seems ridiculous.

Re: Almost off-season discussion! Trades/Free Agency Ep. 9
I wonder if Fultz is available?
-the Sixers already have two solid PGs. and three good ball-handlers if they get Lebron, which I now anticipate as being the most likely destination judging from yesterday's performance. Kind of reminded me of Nash's exit; atleast Lebron was able to win one for da land, and to me, I sensed that the crowd knew Lebron was likely to leave, and their was a mutual peace about this. At the end of the day, reaching four consecutive finals is still damn impressive, and at this point, there's not much more they can do to improve.
-the Sixers have the outright capspace to sign Lebron, but he will absorb a significant chunk of it needless to say. I also really think the Sixers need to bring back JJ Reddick, not for the ridiculous $23 million, but it will certainly be a 10 figure salary. the sixers could also move RoCo- but he's the ideal 3&D wing that Cavs' Lebron needed but never had.
-the sixers can free up about $17 million by sending out Fultz/Bayless. The Suns could sweeten this up with a protected first or Chriss (the Sixers need a backup C). I think it's worth the risk.

I don't think Ainge trades Hayward either. Personally, I think Ainge sees what he can do with a healthy Irving and Hayward, tweaking the roster. Signing veterans to fill holes. He will probably lose Smart - but can find replacements
As for the Suns - many options. I think LeBrons best chance to win is somehow go to Houston with Harden and Paul. Possibly the Sixers in the East but they aren't beating the Warriors. But the only way the Rockets get anything is for somebody to take Anderson.
If the Suns waive Peters, Ulis, Williams, renounce Payton, Len - they will be about 18m under the cap.
For Tucker and Gordon, I would think about sending a future protected first round pick and Daniels post 7/1. Suns can absorb those two players pretty easily. I just think adding Tucker and Gordon would be solid fits next to Booker Jackson Ayton, etc
But that doesn't help the Rockets with Anderson unless they attach another first round pick to a team - maybe the Hawks as they rebuild to clear enough for Anderson - still not sure that does it though.
Suns can be players this summer in assisting trades - with the Rockets; maybe getting Goran. Possibly Kevin Love for cheap - like Warren, Dudley and a pick - kind of cheap. Granted, I don't think adding BOTH Goran and Love make sense

So bad?
In four years, four NBA Finals for his Cavs.
One Championship. The first one in the history of the franchise.
FACTS.
McDonough is a good GM for some people and we have been on of the worst teams on the NBA for multiple seasons.

I doubt Hayward gets traded because there could be some PR and agent backlash. The only possible scenario would be a Leonard deal. They could justify it because of how good he is and they would need to match money plus they could spin that they are sending Hayward to a successful franchise.

With the thought process of the Rockets being the best "fit" for LeBron if he wants to win a title - granted, maybe Philly or the Lakers or Boston would be better. Came up with a couple trades to get LeBron to Houston before 7/1. So opting in like Paul and making the trade that way. Of course, this depends on how many assets Cleveland will want for Ryan Anderson. But Cleveland is capped out next year anyway - so they might want to do it.
Scenario 1: the kicker for this four team trade is Minnesota, they are over the cap but do have an asset to use by 6/29, and that is Cole Aldrich contract, guaranteed for only $2m. So, maybe the player I am sending them - they can do better - but since I want this for the Suns - this is what I came up with
Minnesota; Jared Dudley
Houston: Lebron and Troy Daniels
Cleveland: Ryan Anderson, and two non guaranteed contracts from the Suns in Williams and Daniels. But the key is draft picks from Houston - at least a couple. Possibly a protected pick from the Suns - say in 2020 or 2021, non lottery. Unless they wanted to ship out 2016 this year just for cap space - its 2.8m
Suns: PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon and Zizic I think this would still keep the Suns around 10m in cap space if they renounce Len, Payton and Peters. Enough to sign a guy or two , defensive players especially!
Scenario 2: straight three team trade, Houston, Cleveland and Suns
Houston: James and Daniels
Cleveland: they still have to take Ryan Anderson, either Dudley or Chandler, maybe they want Warren, maybe they want Ulis Williams
Suns get: Tucker and Gordon -

zero chance Lebron comes here and I really don't want to take back any bad long term deal to faciliate a move ( aka not taking Anderson)

Im sorry, but Fultz scares me. Boston knew better and steered clear. Colangelo was gun-ho on Fultz while the rest of the FO was really questioning drafting him and were trying to steer Bryan away from him (Fultz bombed the workout), but BC drafted him anyways as that was his guy. Shot looked broke as hell, they tried fixing it and it was still broken (In a way even worse). BC even took to his burner accounts to bash Fultz, even after just months ago sticking his neck out for the kid and going against the rest of the FO. He got bashed for his shooting, but even more-so about his mental status. When a GM goes through all that to get you, and then is bashing you on twitter months later under assumed names, that speaks volumes.
