Did KD all of a sudden get better, or did his supporting cast become much better? His last playoff with OKC he had .542 TS% and the very next year with GS he posted a .683 TS%.

It's hard to really evaluate him (especially when comparing him to the very elite) because the defensive pressure he faces in GS isn't close to what he faced in OKC due to the quality of the supporting cast. I appreciated him a lot more when he took that OKC team to the finals. That to me is his most impressive feat so far.

Lebron was more efficient playing next to Wade/Bosh. Lebron who learned what his game was like next to talent was more efficient coming back to Cleveland.

Which is why Im not overly impressed with their success. They are dominating with the most talented roster (because of KDs decision) this league has ever seen. They should win everything everytime and have been the favorites for the past 4 years.

Its great that they play so well together and how good they are, yes--but Im not looking at guys on their team any different than before they got together. Getting together to create an unstoppable, unfair advantage force that can run over everything doesnt make me think KD is any better of a basketball player than he was in OKC just because he has a ring.

Point being, not all rings are created equal at least in my eyes.

I used to love Durant. He was one of my favorite players. But I just can't respect what he did. But I'm not bitter about it. It is what it is. It doesn't matter what I think though.

Durant isnt even the opposing defense #1 focus, Curry is.

How many other top 5 players have the benefit of being singled covered almost every possession?

Im not impressed by Durant (Although game 3 was amazing) he should be doing what hes doing all things considered.

As someone who isn’t a Warriors fan, I don’t appreciate it at all. Bad for competitive balance in the league. Feels like playing a video game on the easiest level.

What he's doing there is a lot less challenging than any other situation he could possibly be in. ....Talk about a safety net.....He has the luxury of having absolutely ZERO worries of losing.

Good for him though. However, he is not carrying a team. He is not fighting through adversity. He hasn't had to overcome Jack.

Lol after the Warriors won in 15’ people were calling for that asterisk.

Last year’s finals same thing. Seems we circling that drain in this thread now so let me say it.

2018 Finals deserves that asterisk*

There now go wooosah about it.

Do none of you have souls? KD had to join the Warriors because the Based God was ruining his life.

I thought Kevin Durant was gonna be a Thunder for life. He had a Tim Duncan-like demeanor in him. If anything, I thought it was the fiery Russell Westbrook who was gonna bail out. Oh boy was I wrong. KD joining the Warriors definitely made me appreciate Westbrook even more.

I didn't expect KD to play in OKC for too long. I expected him to go to Lakers or Celtics depending on which team had better pieces.
Boston had great pieces and great assets. I really expected and was really excited for KD to join the Celtics even though i hate Boston fans.

KD going to Boston would have created a contender in East while keeping the finals interesting like 2016 finals.

I have no doubt Boston would have thrown enough towards Pacers to get Paul George from Pacers to Celtics.

Imagine:
Warriors: Curry+Klay+Green
Celtics: KD + PG + lots of promising young players
Cavs: LBJ + Kyrie
Houston(this year): Harden + CP3

That would have been sick for us NBA fans.

KD showed that when come finals he's unequivocally one of the best to ever play the game. He didn't win finals MVP playing with Tyson Chandler, no pass-Kyrie or old man Duncan. He joined one of the most stacked teams ever, a 73 win team, with the best shooter of all time and he is still racking up finals MVPs like there is no tomorrow.

Jay-sus. Some of you really need some kool-aid.

Between 2000 and 2003 Real Madrid created extremely expensive, multi-star team with Figo (62 mio euros - the most expensive player in the world that year), Zidane (77.5 mio euros - again the most expensive), Ronaldo (46 mio euros), Beckham (37 mio euros). They won 2 Spanish leagues, Champions League, became the richest club in the world and created the new era of football/soccer. Oh my, how I hated this team.
Between 2009 and 2013 they followed up with the same idea. The bought Kaka (67 mio), C. Ronaldo (94 mio), Benzema (35 mio), Xabi Alonso (35 mio), Di Maria (25 mio), Modric (32 mio), Isco (30 mio), Bale (100 mio). They might have not win everything straight after that, but they have built team for years that made them even more rich.

I've never seen people claiming that Cristiano went to Real so his greatness is shallow.
I've never seen people claiming that Zidane accolades are fake, because he played for Madrid.
I've never seen people claiming that Beckham is the biggest traitor in the history of the game, because he left United.

Okay, Figo is the biggest traitor in the history of the game, but it's a different story.

Seriously, why is Durant's decision to join GSW making you so salty?

This is not even good trolling. Either that or youre foreign to the concept of "pick your poison".

The NBA is not UEFA, there is no correlation. The dynamics to a football club is completely irrelevant to basketball.

KD is the reason why the warriors are repeat champions, and why the warriors have officially become a dynasty as of this year.

Steph has bursts of god-like scoring ability, Klay is also an incredible two-way player, and Dray just makes everything function and maintains that intensity throughout the season and into the playoffs... but KD is that guy who just throws every opposing coaches game-plan out the window. His ability to slow the game down and knock down that mid range shot over anyone in the NBA makes certain that the warriors won't go for dry spells like they did in the 2016 Finals.
KD has the experience of carrying a team, and has worked on his craft in order to be able to score a dozen different ways, something that Steph and Klay are yet to acquire. I don't have the stats to back it up, but neither steph or klay have been a reliable clear-out option, something that is essential deep in the playoffs when guys get tight and movement off the ball slows to a halt (To Steph's credit, the danger of his deep 3 off the dribble has opened up the driving lane for him, and he's utilized that in this year very well.)

I still think Steph, Klay and Dray are absorbed by the system that warriors have developed, and in a sense would have to leave that comfort and carry a team themselves for a year or more in order to develop other aspects of their game in order to be put in the ranks of a MJ, Lebron, Kobe, Magic, and as of this year, Kevin Durant.

For the first time since KD joined the Warriors I appreciate his decision because I was able to go to sleep at 10:30 EST last night of an NBA finals game for like the first time ever and boy did I need some sleep

The champions always get the finals MVP, dude. If you are not a competitor, to make it as easy as possible to win finals MVP you want to be on a champion where the best player besides yourself is as bad as possible. You think it is as easy to win a finals MVP playing next to prime Jordan or next to Going to Work-Billups?

If you join a 73 win team and ride the coattails to a championship, that's just weak. If you join a 73 win team and win finals MVP that's as tough as it gets.
